The death of Obama's presidency
What will be the impact to Obama's presidency if the dems lose control of Congress?

If the economy turns around, the same as Reagans and Clintons presidency.

I'll just take comfort in the fact that I didn't vote for Obama.

this time, he will be reelected it regardless of what happens because there is no true opposition candidate.
If a true opposition candidate does a rise in the next couple of years, he's done for.
Until that happens, he's a slam dunk two-term president.

Reagan and Clinton both had approval ratings lower than obama's, when the economy turned around on their watch, they got re-elected.

im not ruling this possibility out however, history likes to repeat itself. I'm not going to say Obama is an idiot and I believe that he knows what Clinton did when Republicans took over Congress 2 years after he was in office....
A lot is similar between the two. They started out with all the control in the world.. The public didn't like it and what was done. Outraged they voted in a very conservative congress and senate. As a result Clinton was forced to go along with conservative economic policies to stay in line to get re elected... I believe this is a more probable outcome of the Obama reign.
but all of this is speculation, we will just have to wait and see

Here is what will happen if the dumbocrats (opps, I mean democrats) lose control of congress, around the end of 2010, and early 2011 Obama will start shifting back to the way he acted before the election, he will try to pass himself off as a moderate again, before the 2012 election.

Exactly. Instead of growing balls and taking leadership, Obama's opponents only endlessly whine and complain.

Obama still won't get sht done, only then he'll have a convenient scape goat instead of continuing to blame it all on Bush.

If the democrats lose control of congress it will help Obama's presidency just like GOP control helped Clinton. You should hope that the libertarian branch of the GOP does take control because if we get the evangelicals they will govern worse then the loony liberals we have right now.
My main concern is if the GOP takes control of congress and they waste money on impeachment hearings like they wasted tens of millions of dollars on impeachment hearings for Clinton. On the other hand impeachment hearings will keep them from legislating $h1t that makes things worse.

A divided Congress and Presidency works the best. Having both dominated by the same party is not good for the country. Either way it works out well. The democratic congress helped moderate some of Reagan's ideas and the Republican Congress helped Clinton do the same, and in both situations the country benefited. Dems always want to point out how great things were under Clinton, but forget that the Republicans were also responsible for the country's growth, and Republicans engage in the same folly with Reagan. But people always root for their own team. Tribalism lives on.

The death of his presidency is occuring as we speak. Remember how quickly the people turned on Bush during the Iraq war? Well, things in Afghanastan aren't going to be getting better anytime soon. The best thing he could do to win popularity with the people would be to withdraw all troops. Ya really, think about it.

In fact Obama better be hoping repubs take back congress, because as long as congress has low approval ratings and its majority is democrat that is going to be reflected and associated with Obama.
