Wendys Baconator without a Bun
How bad is it for a once in a bluemoon type thing? I just had one tonight
Here's what it has:
Calories: 780
Fat: 58
Carbs: 8
Protein: 56
Sodium: 1930
Now the only thin I see here messing me up is the sodium, its pretty high.
What you guys think, how bad is it? More times than night I would stay away from fast food all together.

The only thing bad about it is the sodium content and the fact that this meat has 8 grams of carbs. Makes you wonder.

I don't believe it is the meat that has 8 grams of carbs... more likely those come from the processed American cheese, ketchup, and onions that go on it.

Yeah its probably from the ketchup and cheese. The baconator doesn't come with cheese

I think you're confused, the baconator DOES come with cheese. Two slices iirc,
and the carbs are from the ketchup. Wendies has the best quality beef of all the fast food chains. I know, because my lunch is two plain double cheeseburgers sans bun. Wendie's is the only one who's beef actually tastes like beef.

oops, I meant it doesn't come with onions. I was in a rush this morning :S
hows that lunch been doing for you? I'm thinking it might be a good idea on days where I might get something to eat with my friends just to get that.

Works out great. When they used to be $1 each I'd get three plain double stacks and throw away the bun. Now they are $1.39 so I only get two... but it leaves me hungry. Burger king's double cheeseburgers are $1 now, and are much larger. But when you're eating just the meat and cheese it becomes apparent that BK freezes their meat and wendy's does not.
The calorie calculators on the BK and wendy's sites are actually pretty good for putting together a keto meal, because they let you subtract the bun/ketchup etc. I've found that fast food isn't too horrible as long as you get it 'plain'.

Be prepared for some water weight gain. I cannot even look at a sign for either Wendy's or Arby's without swelling up! You want some bang for your buck...try a Big Montana from Arby's! It is HUGE!!!! Do they still have it?

Arbys would be a bad move for me. Couldn't walk out of there without getting just the standard ole roast beef SMOTHERED with Arby's sauce. Searching for a bib now to help with the drooling.

My friend that worked at Wendy's say they chill the meat at 33 degrees in a large frig. Freezing is 32. Wendy's has a great gimmick of "fresh not frozen" by storing it 1 degree above freezing. Technically they are correct but it is such a gimmick. Especially when most fast food burger chain go through their meat in less than a week anyway. They could all claim their meat as fresh not frozen if they really wanted to.
Isn't marketing grand.

How much does it matter too our diet if it is frozen, does it matter? I'm new to dieting if you can't tell, hehe.

To me it doesn't matter at home the diet. When I dine out freshness does matter to me.

There's a distinct flavor difference though. Frozen meat loses its texture. In the words of chef Gordon Ramsey, it's got to be fresh!
93Akkord, it's totally about flavor and texture on frozen vs fresh Fresh goods always taste 5 million x better.

You know there is a method of freezing with the right gas mixture to give meat a fresh look and maintain the color in meats? I forgot what the right mixture is but it is common in the restaurant industry especially for sushi restaurants but fast food too.

Whatever it is, only wendies is using the right mixture ^_^ I'd imagine its something similar to a brine or vinegar.
