Questions about Shoulder Width/Broading Shoulders.
This has been my only problem since i started lifting weights a while ago. I have packed on a good amount of muscle but still look narrow because my shoulders are not broad enough.
What age did your shoulders broaden the most?
For those who had narrow shoulders, did weightlifting help to get you wider? If yes, what exercises helped best?
Any serious answers appreciated.

my shoulders/back has gotten seriously wider even though i still look pretty skinny, its obvious i lift with a shirt on compared to average joes..
for me, going from nothing -> overhead press and weighted pull ups = dem delts
genetics makes a big difference too though

side raises (get the form right though)
get the forearms out of the lift (face hands down)
focus on lifting the elbow to shoulder height.
and regular dumbell shoulder presses.
goodluck.

you have a small build then. there's only so much you can do other than work your shoulders and width. hit your middle deltoid more, with later side raises.
make sure your shoulders dont slouch forward too. stretch your chest with static stretches everyday (not during your workout)

shoulder width of skeletal bones is genetics, just like your height. The appearance of broadd shoulders can be achieved if you work deltoids. Generally you will stop getting broader once you stop growing in height

Lmao @ this. Ok dude... you just need a taper. Nothing else lol. Work your entire back, shoulders, traps, chest, and arms. They will ALL contribute to the illusion of having a wide shoulder girdle.
If you suck at gaining mass (no hate), then focus on improving your side delts, traps, lats, chest, and tri's above all else.

Thanks, will rep. Also, anyone want to tell me what age your shoulders stopped widening naturally?
Also, it makes me wonder how someone like this:
Went to being this wide (one of the widest at the time):
Wouldn't his bones have been stretched from the enormous lats he had?

I attribute the broadening of my shoulders to mainly shoulder shrugs... dead lifts help too. You really destroy those shoulders with shoulder shrugs. Also I do a lot of lat pull downs to get a wider V taper.

whats a shoulder shrug. shrugs dont target your shoulders usually...though i think shrugs have contributed to me getting wider shoulders too. And that bodybuilder's delts are bigger than his head of course he's gona look wider.
