ok
first i start with all the equations were gonna use, Molarity, density, and moles. Our goal is to come up with an answer that has the units moles/liter.
1) is the density in g/ml
but remember for molarity we need the volume to be in liters, so we use the conversion 2) that there are 1000 mLs in 1 L
3) since we want to get moles we use the molar mass of HCl which has units of grams/mole, which are reciprocated to get the moles on top and cancellation of the grams
4) is the percent given of HCl, remember that percent is really just parts per hundred, so you can say there are 0.37 grams of HCl per 1 gram of solution (or 37 grams of HCl per 100 grams of solution, as long as the ratio is 0.37)
calculate this answer and you get 11.97 which rounds to 12.0 with the 3 sig figs we are given and our answer is in moles per liter, which gives you a little more confidence that you have the right answer.
hope this helps, its been a while but this should be right, just remember dimensional analysis!Last edited by BigChamp89; 02-09-2011 at 01:24 AM.

Need help finding a war poem to compare to An Irish Airman Forsees His Death. Basically any war poem talking about how a war is pointless or the only reason their fighting is to go to heaven is good to compare to this one.

Alright this is a joke but I can't remember how to do this math lmao.
It's for a science lab.
If 88 ms = 0.11363 cm/ms
Then 1 ms = how much?
I feel like a retard...wtf.2013 is the end of the beginning of my life, while it is also the beginning of the end of my life.

I forgot I could just use a proportion wow...
88/1 = 0.11363/x
88(0.11363) = 1x
9.99944 = x
But that doesn't make sense...?
Idk I'm lost, that wouldn't make any sense in my lab. Oh well I'll just ask my teacher tomorrow. I don't really care... I ended up not doing homework for 4 other subjects tonight anyway...

and I did the ICE for the problem (Initial concentrations, change in concentration, and Equilibrium concentration)
C6H8O7 > H + C6H7O7

like always write down ur equations n sh!t, since we know the ph formula and the ph is given u can plug it in. if u solve the equation for the H+ conc. u will get 0.00251 M. then u can go on to use the Ka equation, since the amount of moles for disociated H+ ion is the same as the amount of disociated base ion the combined concentration is just the square of the H+ conc. the concentration for citric acid is given and u subtract the H+ from it (x in your case), my general equation for the Ka i shoulda put [C6H8O7 -x], my bad. I got 6.46x10^-5 for the Ka, (makes sense because its a weak acid) then to find the pka u take the -log of the Ka to get 4.2, (citric acid is a carboxylic acid and carboxylic acids have pkas of around 4-5... ull learn that in ochem) so it looks like i did this correctlyLast edited by BigChamp89; 02-21-2011 at 08:44 PM.

Not sure which type you are doing, but in general you write it on a specific element or theme of the book.
I.E I once did a research paper on the subjectivity of reality in Don Quixote. To write one, you must find reputable sources that help prove evidence for each part of your thesis (each paragraph), and cite them using an MLA format.
If it is just on the book itself, in total, you will have to split it into different parts. What are the themes of it? (aka is there love, loss, protagonist vs antagonist, life as a journey or path, etc) You then take citations from the pages (or lines if its a play) and use them to prove each paragraph in the format of Major (your idea) minor minor ( each one being an example citation).
