James' Vasolate review

Vasolate review
I was pretty excited when my Vasolate arrived in the mailbox this Friday, I had been looking forward to receiving my powder in the post for a little while so it was eagerly anticipated. Seeing as there were 2 packets of each flavor I decided to test each one as a thick batter and as a shake.

BANANA BONANZA - Amount per Serving:

As you can see from the profiles this stuff has a good nutritional profile, I liked the inclusion of MCTs. I think these are massively underrated, especially for endurance athletes as a great source of healthy and easily assimilated Kcals. The combo of fats and casein in the powder makes for a really nice digestion profile, I like it at breakfast or before I go to bed. The combo of this slow digesting protein and the calcium, along with the high oleic sunfloweroil seems to do a good job of keeping me full but not bloated.
It has a decent amount of sodium and potassium as well, these are lost when you sweat so it?s nice to replace them (especially the potassium which is often waaay out of whack with the sodium in many foods). I liked the use of sucralose as a sweetner over aspartame. The inclusion of Leucine nitrate and Glutamine was a big plus for me as well, there?s some pretty good anabolic research on both and Glutamine seems to have a role in regulating corticoid overtraining (lots of endurance athletes can et into this state so I always look for glutamine in my products)

Flavour and mixability

The first flavor I tried was the choco-pb, I was impressed with how well it mixed, either a s a sludge or a shake. Even when added ot virtually no water it made a really smooth paste with no obvious chalky lumps. As for the flavor itself it was rich and chocolatey, perhaps lacking a little in the peanut flavor and with a slight amino acid aftertaste but highly drinkable. I liked it as a sludge on top of oatmeal. 7/10
The banana flavor was similair in terms of mixability but it?s flavor was out of this world. I have had a lot of sports nutrition in my time and can honestly say this stuff is amongst the best tasting protein powder out there. It mixes easily and to a smooth texture and the taste is perfect. No aftertaste, no chalkyness, It?s a perfect banana shake flavor (not a smoothie flavor) I even mixed it up to nutella like thickness and made a sandwich with pb on one side and this on the other ? I highly recommend that you try it! Im going to give this 10/10 IMHO the flavor and mixability could not have been improved.

Results.
I noticed improved satiety and I hve made strength gains in the gym while using the product and during a heavy training load. To me it provided a nice quick source of protein loaded calories at breakfast. I felt good in the gym, not hungry, not bloated and with plenty of energy. I hit the weights hard and, thanks to the sustained release I had fuel to keep me going through the workout and into my ride afterwards.
I will strongly consider adding the banana flavor to my pre race breakfast regime for longer road races, it?s nice to have some fat and protein in the system but I have a fragile stomach so eggs etc tend to resurface!

oh and another thing - i dig the orange, it goes with my helmet

You have made strength gains at the gym from one packet of protein powder?????

I guess who needs prohormones, creatine, test boosters and steroids!

Some reviews here are obviously made by people paid or something to gain from advertising a product. Since you made strength gains at the gym from one packet of protein powder why not take two packs and double your strength gains.

Unbelievable!!!!!!!

no mate,
i made strength gains over a 10 day period with several samples of powder.

who needs steroids and prohormones? People who don't have testacles of their own i assume.
who needs creatine? not endurance athletes, of that im positive.
