I live in Oklahoma, they're about as common as overweight tapout ***s, and about as dangerous too.

This.
I'm in Texas for college and around here they are not common, although if the wind gets above 50 mph, the meteorologists will say there is a tornado. The weathermen down here suck.
I moved from Oklahoma and they are super common there, and the weathermen are competent. Gary England, David Payne, and Rick Mitchell FTW.

we get a couple a year through my area.
i have a finished basement that's about 3/4 underground. there's a spare bedroom down there that has a couch and tv with emergency supplies in a closet, and there are no windows... so that's where we go during any kind of emergency. shut the door, turn the tv on if we have power, and just chill until it passes.
i get spooked because my house is surrounded by 200+ ft trees. if even one comes down, there's a damn good chance that my house is getting hit. a smaller tree hit the side of the house during a storm my first year here, and that **** was scary.

Just an interior bathroom at my parents house. I'll probably build a fortified interior room in my house.
