Wanna job as a PT but I only weigh 143lbs
How much would I have to weigh for this job?
Obviously there's no weight requirement but it would look stupid at the moment.

Dude honestly 90 percent of the world thinks that being skinny is automatically healthy and that is all they are looking for. You are probably already good to go.

You have a good physique (no homo) for being a PT, probably already in much better shape than the people you will be training.
More weight wouldnt hurt but even at 143 judging by your avatar I assume they would still hire you.
I've seen PTs that are fat and some that are anorexic, it helps to look fit but it's really just about knowing about training. The appearance only helps to have your clients take you more seriously, but seeing as how you'll be training fat people and/or soccer moms most of the time, they will most likely take you seriously.

I wouldn't say you need to be a specfic weight. Just in decent shape and know your stuff. But I would think that you need to start as a fitness instructor first as jumping straight into Personal Training means you have to literally start from the bottom. You will most likely be self employed and have no clinetel. Atleast if you become a fitness/gym instructor first you can build up a rapport and a reletionship with a gym that you work at then once you are known jump into PT. Because although there is good money in it, most of it goes on travel, rent of gym space and other things.

Thanks for the advice, do I need to go to college to be qualified for a fitness instructor?

i go to ballys and some of the PT's there are smaller than you. honestly, you have a good physique for your weight so i wouldnt worry about it. plus once your a PT you'll probably put on even more muscle since you'll be in the gym for long hours.

If you want to be successful, personality goes a lot farther than certifications/degrees.
Weight doesn't matter too much either. The most profitable trainer at my last gym was skinny fat and not very knowledgeable, but he was amazing at sales.

You look in amazing condition, so i wouldn't worry at all. There should'nt be a thought of a weight requirement but quality of knowledge.

Yes many Colleges in the Uk offer the CYQ level 2 in Gym instructing, normally with college course you learn to teach classes as well, such as Body Pump and Spinning

There's this really skinny dude that is a PT at my gym. I actually trust him with advice more so than the huge guys that train people. His technique is flawless.
Just as long as you know your sh#t, you'll do fine. Plus, you might get more female clients being that you aren't the 250lb "intimidating muscle head."
