Got Stung by a Scorpion

I left my house and felt something in my shoe as I was driving to the store. It just felt like a rock or small stick or something that somehow got in there. I got out of my truck at walmart and I feel a sharp pain in my left foot. I threw my shoe and sock off and watched that crafty bastard bark scorpion scamper out. I crushed his face in shortly after.

About 4 hours later and my foot is still swollen, numb, and in a lot of pain

I think it must have stung my through my sock i'm not really sure. Like I said I felt something in my shoe but it just felt like when your shoelace or a rock or something gets stuck down there. Wasn't moving a lot. I think it stung me 2-3 times too

uhhhh i dunno too much about scorpion stings - but maybe you should see the doctor...

edit:
Wash the area of the scorpion sting with soap and water.
Apply a cool compress on the area of the scorpion sting. Ice (wrapped in a washcloth or other suitable covering) may be applied to the sting location for 10 minutes. Remove compress for 10 minutes and repeat as necessary.
If stung on a limb (arm or leg) elevate the limb to heart level.
Call the Banner Poison Control Center Hotline at 1-800-222-1222. If you develop symptoms such as numbness or tingling of extremities or face, blurry vision, or muscle twitching, roving eye movements, go to the nearest emergency room. Young children and older people who are stung by a scorpion should be taken to the emergency room immediately.
Keep your tetanus shots and boosters current.

I didn't think it was really necessary. I cleaned it with soap and water real good after making sure their was no stinger stuck in then i've been doing cold compresses on it. Usually only young, sick, and old need to go to the ER for it, or if it compromises breathing or any other serious side effects. Bark scorpions are one of the most dangerous though, at least around here

It must have just been pressed up tight in my shoe and not able to move much, I wondered the same thing. And i'm not dead because like I said, although the bark scorpion is very dangerous, im a very healthy 19 year old that weighs enough for it not to cause any very harmful effects

ahhh cool, yeah he probably got low to try and avoid your foot, so the venom must be pissed out, I'd probably make sure you drank lot of water

Yea. its a weird sort of pain because the foot is numb but it kind of feels like I have electricity running through it and then every little bit it throbs real good

Bark Scorpions suck (just killed one last week), but you definitely don't need to go to the hospital if you're robust and healthy, unless you have a vagina.
