clomid use for gynecomastia
My doctor recently prescribed me clomid (50 mg 1/day for 6 months) for my gynecomastia. I have a mild case mainly puffy nipples and a little bit of noticeable breast tissue. My profile pic is old and its gotten worse since then. Has anyone else been prescribed clomid for gynecomastia? Did it work for you? Did you have any side effects?
By the way, my estrogen and testosterone levels are normal, my doctor just thinks that for some reason my breast tissue may be more sensitive to the estrogen in my system. This is really the last option before surgery, which i'd preferably like to avoid.

You think anyone in this section is going to have an answer?
Seriously?

50mg isnt much in terms of clomid. Your doctor can prescribe stuff for gyno like a SERM though?
I have kinda puffy nipples, and getting a serm for use as PCT prescribed would make things so much easier.

Yes doctors can prescribe SERM's, they can prescribe any medication if they think it will help an issue a person has.
What sort of cycle are you doing?
And OP, You might notice slight reduction after using Clomid, but i don't think it will completely irradicate it, and be prepared to feel depressed while using it.

My mistake.
I'm curious as well, cycle options are somewhat.....limited now.

Dude clomid wont work,
your best option would be letrozole; ramp your dose upwards starting low and taper off to avoid estrogen rebound. Unfortunately (and I know its probably not what you want to hear right now) but unless the gyno is recent your probably going to be pissing in the wind trying to treat it with letro and will probably need surgery. Thats what I'm going through at the moment. Goodluck anyway.

If you only have puffy nipples without the lump thats called 'pseudo gynocomastia' and is a lot easier to treat than having to get the lumps cut out, I dont think a SERM would be of any use to you but your only 18 so I dare say it will go away with time.

So even if you're around 18 and have the lumps it can still potentially go away?

If you just have puffy nipples that commonly goes away. If you have an actual hard lump under one or both nipples than surgery is the only option.

Clomid is a SERM, and you're right, 50mg ED isn't much. It's not a particularly effective SERM for gynecomastia, either, as its ability to act as an estrogen receptor antagonist in breast tissue is less than both raloxifene and tamoxifen.

This is true, although letrozole is often overkill, especially for someone as young as the OP. It has the ability to completely wipe out circulating estrogen, which would typically be quite effective for treating gyno, and also present all sorts of side effects. Estrogens are still necessary hormones, even for developing young male bodybuilders.
Anastrozole is a better choice than letrozole, and raloxifene is a better choice than clomiphene and tamoxifen.
I expect this thread to be locked soon, as these tend to have a lot of bad parrot advice distributed through them.

Ha that's why I said "better" and avoided superlatives.
I have my own personal preferences for how I'd self-medicate for gyno (that don't include letrozole), but I'll cross that bridge if/when I get to it...

Personally I would say f it. Stash all the Clomid your getting. Saves you some money at a later date in time. I doubt it will do anything for you right now anyways.
