WNBF/INBF Pro Am in Paradise- San Diego CA 07/10/2010
Hey Everyone-
It is official! I have the Museum of Contemporary Art in San Diego, CA booked for July 10, 2010.
Myself (Mary Bell) and my Co-Promoter Leroy Perry have joined forces to bring the Pro's and The am's an unbelievable show in Paradise!! the location (La Jolla) and venue is outstanding- backing to the Ocean and surrounded by stores, restaurants, the beach and all the attraction of my beautiful home of San Diego CA- Your experience will be one of competition and Vacation, something I always wanted as a competitor myself.
Leroy and I have decided to offer this show to Pro BB'ers and Pro FitBody for 2010- We both agree the Body Builders have less options to compete in where as Pro Figure athletes have many shows to choose from. The Am side is a WNBF PQ and we will have a Ms. Best Body San Diego division along with PQ for Figure, Fitbody and Body Building. Fitness will be offered as well!

WOW, not only did you guys take Bob and Tina's original date but also the first part of their website name. I'm just upset at how this all happened!
But I hope and know this gives all the natural athletes more places to compete and encourage more folks to stay natural here on the west coast.

I think despite whatever federation is running all these new shows on the west coast, the increased number of shows, both amateur and pro will improve the sport as a whole and we should really focus on that.
I want to thank ALL the promoters who I have competed with this last season, Kevin, Denise, Bob, Tina, Johnny and Leroy for making natural bodybuilding the TRUE and PRIMARY reason for putting on such great shows and helping the natural athletes.
lets keep it that way for 2010, if the sport grows as a whole we all prosper

We are 5 weeks out from the CNN things are falling into place great, and I am excited about many of you experiencing the kind of shows my co-promoter Roy Perry and I put on for the Athletes. Just talk to people that attended the NNA in the DC area or the US Cup in Norcal.
* We have an awesome venue- La Jolla Museum of Contemporary Art - Sits on a bluff over looking the ocean. Minutes from great night life and of course food!
* Host Hotel is located down town San Diego to keep everyone who is coming in for a CompCation close to all the great activities the San Diego has to offer, & minutes from the airport. The hotel has guest passes to 3 major gym in walking distance and Food right across the street.
* We have a shuttle that will pick you up from airport as well as a limo bus to take you to venue in style.
* We have a spray tanning team as well as Video guy and Photographer to make your day that much more memorable.
* Pro's you have lots of Money up for Grabs. Am's will be giving out Pro Status in Fit Body, Bodybuilding and Figure as well as gift certificates from Vandella Costumes to have a one of a kind competition suit made.
* Scivation will be in the house and giving out great supps to all athletes.
* Modeling Contract is up for grabs as well. You think you have what it takes come show it to the fitness modeling scouts.
* My good friend and comedian Duke Michaels will be MC'ing the show with a opening comedy act on our crazy world of BB and Figure.

One of the best things- This is all taking place in Sunny San Diego vote the Best City in the US.. I like to call it Paradise in the US.

I didn't hear about "Live Judging", what is that?? I saw that pic and remembered how good you looked 2 years ago, I'm scared to see how freaky you are now! Personally I think you have what it takes to win this whole show.

Live Judging has really gained popularity over the last few years. I am good friends with James Carron (IFPA pro and OCB/IFPA promoter) and he does it at his show. He gets such positive feedback from the audience, competitors and judges).
Basically it's a combined Pre-judging and night show. Pre-judging goes first, then rolls right into the night show. Here's what I see as the advantages:
- easier peaking for competitors because of the later start time
- shorter day as you are staying at the venue
- event starts later in the day
- audience sees EVERYTHING
- single admission for the audience (no separate day and night tickets)
I'm sure there are a few others I am missing but I LOVE the concept and am glad to be part of a show that is doing this. I hope that it catches on more and more. When I spoke to Mary Bell (co-promoter of this show), she said to me that she was going to do her best to make it competitor-friendly and boy was she speaking the truth!
I can't wait to get out there already! Is it showtime, yet?
That is awesome that rob and thad are so supportive of each other and how you guys recognized competing at the 08 international together. Also, i never heard of this "live judging" it sounds very intriguing. My fam might want to do this at our inbf show next year, especially if it goes over well.
I can't wait to see pics from this show, and see rob and chill backstage with him and see him hit the stage at the mid america. I can't wait for joe's show as well!
