You need to realize that love is the meaning of life.
I don't mean love for a girl, although that is good too.
I'm talking about a universal love of everything. All that is alive.
Its a form of love called agape. Look it up. And thank forge3 too.
Religions are dumb. But they all try to make you realize that life is ultimately good and love is why you are alive. Love is what separates humans from animals.
You are unhappy because you are looking for happiness in the wrong places.
Some of the poorest people alive are also the happiest.
The american dream is hollow. Think bigger than paychecks and toys and you might start to get it.
Also, I wouldn't recommend DMT. Start smaller with something like mushrooms or san pedro cactus. DMT is for very experienced trippers only, its a total mind frag. Almost too strong to be of any use.

Someone else gets it, great post man.
OP, take a step back and appreciate the little things in life. Don't take life so seriously, you aren't the only one that questions these things, but accept that you may never know the answers. Take it for what it is and make the best of it. After all, we are pretty fuking insignificant...all we can do is try to enjoy our brief moment on earth and not get caught up and worried about the superficial nonsense.

I try not to take life very seriously... I try to live in the moment and not let my mind be possessed by thought. But I just can't help but view my existance in this way sometimes... I don't know what else to do. I am not a materialistic person and do not live for a hefty paycheck or money like someone else that posted seemed to think I might.
And to answer someone elses question.. for the most part I don't enjoy life that much... I just kinda go with the flow... it is what it fcking is. I'm an honest hardworking person that lives fairly simply.

Definitely. A year ago I was about as low as I've ever been, and it's been a progressive work in progress to get my mind right and accept life for what it is. Took some reading, took some time, but it's not impossible.

Well in that case, I can say that the only time in my life I felt like you do in the OP was when I was drinking way too much alcohol.
Are you drinking a lot?

Well I have been drinking right now lol. I am buzzed. I am not an alcoholic. But what I am expressing right now is just an intensified feeling of what I think from day to day now and then... Alcohol is kind of a truth serum in a way...

I was only drinking once a week and I don't think that qualifies as alcoholism.
Alcohol made me very angry. It dampens the soul in terrible ways. Yes, it does intensify feelings, but it intensifies the wrong feelings, the negative ones.
You need to look inside yourself to figure out why you are drinking. You're drunk on the misc, and its not the weekend. Are you drinking alone?

I recommend reading the book, "The Power of Now," by Eckhart Tolle. It's somewhat of a spiritual guide to enlightenment which I read during the summer and I can say it has changed the way I look at life. I looked at the world through your set of eyes before OP, and it's pretty depressing to live that way to say the least. Pick up the book if you're looking peace of mind in your life.

Yes i have been drinking alone. I don't think it's that big of a deal. I don't socialize that much out of work so I don't think it's that big of a deal... I just drink sometimes on my own becuz I hardly go out. I'm introverted I'd rather drink with myself than someone else a lot of the time.

Dude... I have read The Power Of Now and A New Earth... They are both great and have changed how I think and view my existance... I am more content with life partly becuz of Eckhart's book... Trust me brah... I have done my share of soul searching for enlightenment... I catch my mind wandering a lot and just try to be in the moment. But I just can't help but feel how I do some still. I guess this is escalated more when I'm drinking tho like I am now.

Well Chris, I am not psychic, it was experience talking.
I knew you were drinking and probably drinking alone because I've been there. I've thought the exact same things as you did in the OP.
I just want you to know that you will not find any answers by drinking.
You need to ask yourself why you are drinking. And I don't mean answers like "feels good man" or "i like the taste of it".
What need are you trying to fill with the alcohol?
To this day I still do not know WHY I was drinking. I just know it was wrong and I was trying to self medicate, to dull my mind so I wouldn't think so much. But little did I know that drinking slowly made my mind negative. So I would drink to stop thinking those negative thoughts, and ironically, it was the alcohol that was making me negative.
You are definitely on the right track when you talked about taking psychedelics. Psychedelics are so very, very different than alcohol. They will give you answers, alcohol only gives you questions, and bad ones....
Good luck.

We drink or smoke with an only aim of escaping the hard reality that we go through everyday. It is loopholes in which both can give a respite to the mind, at least of reality itself.
