Alan Keyes is clueless. Communism is stateless. Obama is a Statist. Maybe if Keyes had referred to him as a Stalinist it would be more appropriate, even though it would still be inaccurate.

Centralized government is all it takes to head right into the direction of Communism. A Statist is pretty much a blanket term for a Communist. Communism, like Socialism has many different levels of moderation and extremism. Statism is taking certain elements of Communism, doesn't matter which, and implementing that across the board. It doesn't matter if we have state governments as well because they would follow suit.

Am I claiming we're a communist nation? No. I'm claiming that we're heading towards the path of Communism, as to the extreme of it... it is unknown. And the bail outs should have been the biggest clue.

Edit: Statelessness? Amnesty bill.

Standard fearmongering. Some of the points are accurate, but they are a continuation of previous policies. Obviously, we need to stop spending money, the war in Afghanistan needs to end, production of goods needs to increase, but nobody has a good plan for achieving any of these, Alan Keyes included.

I believe "New Party" refers to progressive/socialist policies, not communism.

ACORN and SEIU, while almost certainly corrupt (imo) and a wart on our society, are not communist organizations per se.

I'll grant you #2-#4, but #5 is still somewhat unproven

But to me, the much more important issues that Keyes touched on were related to a fiscal policy that makes GB's last 4yrs look like he was a tight ass......and social policy that we can argue all day over defining, but should debate on the merits, not the name we decide upon.

That's really disingenuous and I think you're judging him by the wrong criteria. Just because he was a New Party member and had communist friends and was mentored by communists and hired communists and nationalized some industries doesn't make him a communist. You really need more evidence than that.
I disagree with a lot of Obama's policies, but I think you're way off base here.

Well, I think there are some good ideas/plans out there, but they're being smothered by the current admin's 3-way power play (it wouldn't be any different if the republicans were in office either). Nevertheless, while Keyes does represent some views I hold, he's never been high on my list as being the sharpest knife in the drawer either. Still, he raises valid points and you can't deny him that.

It's a bit scary that people are taking Alan Keyes seriously.

The man is still bitter about getting royally spanked in the 2004 senate race. I mean ROYALLY spanked. Obama got 40% REPUBLICAN support in that race (not to mention 75% of independents)

Keyes was working with psycho Orly Taitz on the birther sh*t too.

I wouldn't be surprised if the people in my sig took the guy seriously but everyone else should be a bit smarter than that, hopefully
