This..Supplement your diet, I don't replace solid food with shakes.
Also, if the protein shakes you're taking have simple carbs, (maltodextrin) then I would use them strictly post workout and make sure your other carb meals have quality complex carbs, (brown rice, sweet potatoes, plain oats, what bread, etc).
