What is next?
Yesterday our PS3 gave up the ghost... and just now as we were watching the Broncos/Chargers game our Sony 55" screen tv popped and blew out. Niiiice.
Waiting for the 3rd electronic device to die... it had better NOT be my laptop.

I feel your pain. Sometimes I think we have the golden touch for breaking things. We have a big screen TV as well...very big. In it's first 3 years, it has gone through 3 projector lamps and a circuit board. And we honestly don't use it that much, don't have the time. We bought a new Toro zero turn lawnmower from Home Depot in July. It has been to the shop for 3 separate repairs...all under warranty thankfully, but a pain in the butt.

We lost a few electronics a couple of years ago. I did some research and learned you can have power surges not only through your elctric source but also through your coax cable. Now everything runs through a surge protector.

Just this past summer got a Phillips 47` HD 1080p fpr 799 & Bought a Macbook Pro thats lightning fast, with a pretty state of the art Power surge, took all the necessary precautions ! but like anything such as that, they are machines built by humans ! But for my benefit I have over 500 books for my relief

Chris watched it on the TV in the bedroom... he came out and gave me updates as needed. I listened... on the surround sound as I played on here.

Chris wants to just fix this one right now. a 60" would not fit in our entertainment space.
Oh, Chris just got pulled over for a crack that has been in his windshield for TEN YEARS... LOL...
I refuse to say 'what next'...

The best electronics investment
I think you can get a whole house surge suppressor, installed, for under $200. We live on the O'Hare power grid, and although I don't believe it has line conditioning (no protection against undervoltages), the whole house is protected against electrical damage.
