it sounds like something is grinding at the rear left wheel. doesn't get any quieter or louder when i brake so idk if it's the brake pads. brakes aren't eating at the rotor either. there's nothing visible that i could see making the noise. it's gotten louder over the past couple weeks also.

What year is the car? Reason i'm asking is if it's an older vehicle it may be the wheel bearings.

its probably your rotor...its probably all rusted and the pad is wearing unevenly so its making a grinding noise...or there could be some dirt stuck in there.

Probably a wheel bearing, but could be related to brakes just as well.

Lift up the wheel, spin it. If you can still hear the grinding (will more then likely be quieter), pop the wheel off. Spin it again and see if you still hear it. Pull the caliper off and spin it again. If you still hear it and there isn't any obvious parts chillin out against the rotor, then it's almost guaranteed to be a wheelbearing.

If you can't hear the grinding, that it's quite likely that it is the wheel bearing as WB noise typically goes away or lessens when the load is taken off of it.

Worn wheel bearings sound like that. Get it fixed, asap. It doesn't take long for a wheel bearing to wear out completely before your wheel finally tears itself off.

Wheel bearing..........especially if you can make the grinding louder when taking curves. I have a bad wheel bearing on my 94 Mustang, everytime I take a curve to the right it gets louder but it doesn't make the noise all the time. Just been to lazy to fix it yet.

It's most likely a wheel bearing good sir. I am not sure if they are sealed bearings in the 2000 mustang or not? If they are they are usually ALOT OF FUN to get out.

u should not let noise go and keep driving, if it is a worn wheel bearing, they can get so hot they will actually weld themselves in, then you need a cutting torch................gl

altho, it is a rear wheel drive car, i always thought the diff fluid took care of the bearing lubrication

it was the brake pad eating the rotor on the inside

i had all 4 pads changed and had to replace a caliper

they charged me 220$
