i hurd that insulin is the reason why so many pro bodybuilders have big guts even thow they are low bodyfat and can see there 6 pack... they still have a big gut because of insulin and GH.
is it insulin the drug.. or insulin as in insulin spike from food or are they they same thing...
shouldd i stop trying to get insulin spike in my post workout shake to prevent getting a gut?
im alredy lean and have abs but starting to notice it slightly....

It's due to the combined factors of extrogenious, insulin and IGF-1 with the huge diet.
There have been many threads on this so please search next time." The insulin from eating food has no major affect and is nothing to worry about.
We are talking about insulin and IGF-1 that is injected." IGF-1 and Insulin cause GH gut. Send an email to every pro bodybuilder you can think of and ask them what causes GH gut, all of them will tell you it's not GH, it's not high levels of testosterone and it's not caused by eating large amounts of food. IGF-1 and Insulin are to blame.
Don't take my word for it, start emailing away and read the research that's available.

The intestine is 8 meters long , its involuntary muscle with muscle cells like all other muscle
When worked hard ( calories, digestion) combined with an increase of any anabolic hormones will create greater absorption of the mitochondria within the muscle cell directly increase in the size of that cell therefor increase the size of the muscle through the cell retention ( same as all muscle) .
The fact is the bodybuilders of today just eat more and use far more anabolic hormones.
When bodybuilding becomes about mass and freaky size and no longer an art nothing else can be expected
When bodybuilding has been simplified to characters of absolute excess in all areas with no precision or form of intellectual control
When bodybuilding is in the hands of the pimps that do not suffer the consequences of the health and lifestyle risks but handle a large % of the profit utilising the insecurities and past negative experiences of the physical gifted and using as a fuel for there motivation and keeping them on a narrow philosophical path of what 'bodybuilding ' is with this back up by empathetic fans that can not relate to reality but have an 'idea' created by fantasy possible based on the same insecurities and past negative experiences and created a 'symbolic' physical idea that would 'protect them'
lol thats why guts are out of control
hehe waiting for the hate xx

You need to realise than diabetics only supplement insulin in normal amounts, it's a completely different story when you start injecting insulin in huge doses. The same goes with HRT, if you only inject normal amounts of testosterone then wouldn't say that testosterone makes you big and strong would you? However if you injected several grams on a regular basis to achieve a much higher than normal level you will certainly notice it's effects, the same goes with insulin, diabetiics injecting relatively normal amounts isn't going to change anything out of the ordinary, however injecting huge amounts well above the normal level is certainly going to have noticeable effects.

- IGF-1 causes intestine and organ growth
- Insulin causes intra abdominal fat storage (an easily proved statement, google will find thousands of studies reporting this)
The 2 act in different ways to produce the GH gut look, I hope this explains it better. If you ask any professional BB who has experience with these type of drugs they will tell you that it's IGF-1 and Insulin causing the guts, I've personally emailed many pros and been told the same thing by them all. GH can contribute very slightly because GH increases natural IGF-1 production within the body, although you would have to take extreme amounts of GH in order to get a noticeable effect.

You just answered your own question. Type 2 diabetics are insulin resistant, this increases the amount of insulin that is released in response to food. The reason why insulin resistance increases visceral fat is because insulin resistance increases your insulin levels, the increased insulin levels cause visceral fat to increase.
It's not insulin resistance directly causing visceral fat, it's the increased insulin levels (a side effect of insulin resistance) causing the visceral fat. A normal person may release 5 units of insulin in response to a certain meal, a type 2 diabetic may release 20 units of insulin in response to the same meal, the reason why type 2 diabetics have more visceral fat is because they produce 4 times the amount of insulin.
I've emailed many pros and asked about insulin, basically I'll sum up all thier answers for you. You inject insulin and your gut gets bigger, you stop injecting insulin and it shrinks. Pretty clear if you ask me.Last edited by Kelei; 10-19-2009 at 08:10 AM.
