4 years. Really...it AINT that long.
I've been a bit MIA on this particular forum as I've been caught up journalling my efforts this year.
Had this sent to me and a mate who saw it said I should post it here as an example of what one can do in 4 years.
Is it me? Am I different? Am I special? Not by a long shot.
Obsessive? Driven? Unforgiving of myself? Focussed?
Absolutely. But without that I rekon you got no chance and you're just playin' at it.
My coach, sensing I needed a lift with the carbs reducing going on, sent me this comparion of the the past 4 years
Two scary things in it.
One. The change. All good.
Second. I actually thought I looked good back then. Can ya imagine??? Aint perspective a wicked taskmaster???
4 years. I noticed I'm a bit more grey and a bit less hair.
Seriously though, I posted the pics to both motivate and remind myself of the road traveled but hopefully to show others that 4 years ain't that long in the scheme of things and massive changes ARE possible.
In Pic 1, I was 96kg (about 211 lb) with I'd say >30% body fat and in Pic 2, last weekend, I was 77kg (about 168) and maybe 4% b/f.
Yet and maybe its just me - I look far larger in the second pic.
An illusion. But a good one...

I don't think you look bad in the before pic but you look a LOT different in the after pic!

Excellent transformation, but I gotta say, there is no way you are over 30% body fat in the first pic. I'd guess mid to high teens.

Gotta agree with ya...dont know why I said 30%. But I think it is definately higher than the high teens, though.
I need carbs.....

I'm on my way. I'll post mine in late 2011.
Great job.

So even at your age (a compliment!), you haven't been left with a bunch of extra skin from losing 40 plus pounds. You look great! There is hope for me.

Hi
I did. Time though helps immeasurably if ypou stay at the lean level
Also as you build more muscle it fills out the skin a bit as well
But one of the tips I'd pass on is to use something called Thiomacuse
I absolutely swear by it! Use it for several months 2x per day and it absolutely helped get rid of the loose skin around the middle. Heres a pic I found so you can see there is a huge difference. Fact is as I lost more body fat the "sag" and "wrinkles" got alot worse.

Thanx - but gotta say I didnt "see" myself doing this - I've sort of "ended up" here. I like to say its just a question of putting one foot in front of the other - staying focussed, maintaining the discipline, setting your goals, accepting and making no excuses and before you know it - youre sorta there.
Would I have kept at it if I felt how I looked today was my goal? Probably not. Too far outta reach

Again thanx but as I said above - its a journey of many SMALL sometimes miniscule steps. Each one built on the gains before it and each one achievable and believable.
