Is The Large Hadron Collider Being Sabotaged from the Future?
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/10/13/sc...ewanted=1&_r=2
http://io9.com/5380647/is-the-large-...rom-the-future
Physics is fun stuff!!
Quote:
What if all the Large Hadron Collider's recent woes are more than bad luck and technical problems? Two noted physicists speculate that the future may be pushing back on the LHC to avert the disaster of observing the Higgs boson.
The quest to observe the Higgs boson has certainly been plagued by its share of troubles, from the cancellation of the Superconducting Supercollider in 1993 to the Large Hadron Collider's streak of technical troubles. In fact, the projects have suffered such bad luck that Holger Bech Nielsen of the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen and Masao Ninomiya of the Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics in Kyoto wonder if it isn't bad luck at all, but future influences rippling back to sabotage them. In papers like "Test of Effect From Future in Large Hadron Collider: a Proposal" and "Search for Future Influence From LHC," they put forth the notion that observing the Higgs boson would be such an abhorrent event that the future is actually trying to prevent it from happening.

Yeah, and if Kirk hadn't gone back in the past and stopped Dr. McCoy from saving Edith Keeler, the Nazi's would have won the war and stuff.......

I'm not sure who is behind it, but I think we can all agree that Jonathan Taylor Thomas is somehow involved.

Tyrbro,
The Atavachron had NOTHING to do with Edith Keeler!
I'm surprised EMISGOD didn't neg YOU into the edge of forever. Episodes, man; get them right!! (You can tell from this post that I just watched that episode--and Mr. Atoz is gonna be pissed you got that wrong!)
I wonder---if the time ripples ARE influencing the past (which is our present) then what we do NOW is having an effect on the future which in turn--if it's done DIFFERENTLY in the present--will have an effect on the future's past...which is now.
Tune in tomorrow--I have to think this through a little more...

If you guys actually knew anything about quantum physics you would know that time is not as simple as we believe, all time (at least the illusion of time we percieve) is connected directly, we just don't understand exactly how yet. In reality there is actually no such thing as time or space, we simply have an illusion of time and space created by consciousness, perhaps a little known fact is that absolutely everything in the universe is made from light, everything.
Consciousness which is thought which is light is the base from which all existence emerges.
By the way guys a bit of advice, don't get involved with quantum physics, you'll wish you never did.

I've touched on quantum physics in school about 8 years ago, extremely freaky and abstract sheeeiit indeed. I read the Times article last Monday and it blew my mind and answered a couple of questions I had. The sabotage angle is very plausible.

Is this hypothesis, theory or law? I can't figure how you can make a definitive statement like this when no one has actually stepped outside of 'time' and returned to tell the tale......

When I first asked that question to someone else I was told "don't ask", nearly 4 years later I finally got my head around things enough to comprehend it. I'd love to be able to give you a simple answer within one paragraph but it's just not possible, this type of stuff takes years to learn.
Here's something interesting (not related) to think about aswell, if I was to say to you that somewhere out there in the universe is a planet identical to ours, and me and you are having this same conversation at this exact same moment in time, would you believe it? You would have no choice but to accept it because space is infinite, you can simply keep going forever and ever and ever until you eventually find what you're looking for.
Anything you can imagine must exist somewhere, you can simply keep searching for infinity until you find it, it would be impossible for it not to exist.

That has to be one of the coolest theories ever and totally correct, even by my simple reasoning!

I've loved quantum physics for a very long time............ but Reality Check is probably the only one here with a prayer of grasping even a bit of it's world.
I have told my son ever since he was a little boy that I only asked one thing from him in his life. And that was to grow-up and to understand fully quantum physics and then to come and explain it to me............ then I would let him know "and by the way nobody understands quantum physics fully"........
Too bad Richard Feynman is long gone.......... I'd have loved to read what he thought of all this.........
Brings to mind some Richard Feynman quotes:
A great deal more is known than has been proved.
What I cannot create, I do not understand.
...the "paradox" is only a conflict between reality and your feeling of what reality "ought to be.

I don't believe you will find what you're looking for in 'this' universe........ go to the one down the hall and to your left. I believe you'll be surprised at what you'll find.
Have a nice day!

You must find it, because you can never search the entire universe and then say "ok I've checked everywhere, it's not here".
But in regards to other universes, trying to tell people that there are an infinite number of other universes taking up the same space as our own universe but we can't interect with them or they with us is a sure fire way to get a very strange reaction lol.
You can literally go crazy thinking about this stuff lol.
Once you've looked into quantum physics long enough you come to the conclusion that the universe is nothing more than an illusion, a thought. I know this is hard for you guys to believe but the truth is that there is no such thing as time or space.
There is only one moment
There is only one place
There is only one consciousness
The bottom line is, everything is one, everything is God, nobody will ever see the face of God because he does not have a face, God is us, God is everything around us, God is everything.
Existence is merely God experiencing himself.
Haha I bet you all think I'm some crazy mofo, I honestly wouldn't blame you for thinking that, my head is going to start hurting if I keep thinking about this stuff lol.
You could say that everything is God.

Oh, but I did check.............. I told you it's not here, but you can find it in an infinite number of Universes, all of which by the way are just down the hall and to the left.... though you won't find it in all the universes (actually there will be an infinte number of universes in which you never came to be for an infinite number of reasons), so be careful which you choose to look in.
Cheers.

Death is also an illusion and need not be feared, we do not die, we simply return to God once the experience is over.

But only in those infinite number of universes in which you came to be, in the infinite number in which you never were your status is unchanged......... that is if you have a status in an infinite number of infinite universes in which there are and are not an infinite numbers of you........... and in which an infinite number of you have blue eyes and an infinite number have brown.
Carry on............... lol
