    Anterior pelvic tilt?

I herniated l5/s1 almost a year ago. Have tried pretty much every conservative treatment and have even tried going back to lifting.

Prior to that, i had about 2 years weight training with starting strength concepts. I have always noticed that I have an anterior pelvic tilt that is quite large. I am thinking that it has a big part in this problem, If i really flex my glutes and abs, it is hard but i can get my pelvis lined correctly for a short while and it seems that it takes pressure off the affected nerve, temporarily relieving pain.

I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this issue. I think that the tilt is causing issues in every day life that keeps aggravating the problem.

I have a herniation at L5-S1 to took years but I'm back.

Do you ever do pelvic tilts? if you're familiar with them do them and take notice if it hurts your back when going into an anterior tilt and relieves it when in a posterior tilt.
If this is the case most likely the disk is pressing on the nerve or the nucleus itself which could cause irritation.
For now try to avoid over arching your back or extreme anterior tilts.

I would see a good Chiro sounds like something that can be fixed with some flexion distraction.

You don't herniate it from having an anterior tilt it just aggravates it.

Depending on if the disk is posterior or anterior and other factors play a roll it's hard to distinguish because there are so many.

You're right. Better to fix issues like this with cortisone shots and drugs that don't actually correct any problems. Maybe if he's lucky he'll get some unnecessary surgery that will take him out for a year.

Im talking ART, massage, physio, rehab specialist, coach.

The only thing chiro helps LONG TERM is the thickness of the chiros wallet.
Somemaybe good, others will get you coming back once a month for the rest of your life.

ART and massage can get stuff like that sorted quick smart

I understand what your saying about Chiros but there are some real good one's out there that can help, the key is finding them.
I know because I work with one and he is awesome so it always bothers me when people say they suck.
A chiro knows the spine's structure better than a PT that's what they study you'll get a better outcome once you find a good one.

Yes there are good ones out there, just like theres bad ARTs etc.

From all the people who I have to get sent to get treated, the best results are usually with ART and massage type therapists.

Chiros have caused me nothing but trouble with many athletes...but yes, again, there are many good chiros out there
