    Olympic plates

I recently purchased some home gym equipment. I got

Bodycraft Powerrack (with dip handles and lat/row attachment)
Bodyraft F320 bench (with preacher and leg curl attachment)
Powerblock 9.0 Stage 2 with stand
    4 4x5 floor mats

All I need now is a curl bar and an olympic weight set. Right now I could get away with 2x45, 4x25, 2x10 2x5

The local place has steel weights with no grip holes for $1/lb and rubber coated for $1.70/lb. I have been looking around and can't seem to find anything much better. I always thought steel could be found for $0.5-$0.75/lb but I have had no luck so far. Any suggestions?

I bought 400lbs of plates off craigslist for .55 lb if memory serves and a 7' Ivanko black oxide bar online to start off my home freeweights.

Depending on whether you are, you should be able to find used plates for $0.50/lb. I'm in Canada and even I was able to find them for around that price.

The best deal I've ever gotten so far was $90 for a Olympic bench press, 7' bar, and 255lb of plates. I sold the bench and bar for $200...so essentially made $110 and kept the plates

Most stuff I find around here includes the bar and bench and I have no need for that. But I guess I could just sell them. I found 180lb of weights at Dick's for $108 and a 300lb set (includes the bar) for $180.

Everyone can use an extra bar. That way you have a designated deadlift bar. Not as much swapping of plates either.

Try searching craigslist.. sometimes people get rid of them for cheap.. I got mine off a guy that seems to run a business through craigslist selling workout equipment.. his garage was packed!
