    Mad Cow 5x5 Assistance Exercises

I've been doing the Texas Method program for 4 months and have had good results. I am starting to plateau on everything and have decided to give Mad Cow's 5x5 a shot. My question is how important are the assistance exercises in the program. My gym does not have the hyper extension bench. I would also like to incorporate chins somewhere into the program and am thinking of replacing the weighted sit ups with these. I'd appreciate any thoughts on this from those who have used the program with success. Thanks.
    Dead Lift 348x5
    Squat 298x5
    Bench 254x5
    Row 230x3
    Press 150x2

I am doing that program right now, i really don't think they are to important i probly still do situps and it says you can do chin ups on wednesday, but really the focus is on the major lifts so don't worry to much about the assited exercises.

chins/pulls up should be used on the middle day (2nd work day of the week) in the same fashion of a 5x5 set-up.

    week 1: bwx5x5
    week 2: bw+additional weight for 5x5
    week 3: bw+additional weight+more weight for 5x5
    week 4: and so on

dont increase the weight unless you hit 5 sets of 5.

Assistance exercises are not very important on the program.
