Ok basically I'm a shorty about 5 foot 5 and weigh only 112pounds...I'm skinny with no fat really but I don't look like a runt because I'm muscly for my size and quite toned/ripped bicep/shoulder wise.
I havent been able to put on any weight in like 8 years lol believe it or not which most say is a good thing.
My main goal is to build up my upper body and keep working on my arms too and put on a little weight everywhere else which seems to be very hard.
I have been working out for 6months or so but not really happy with my progress. I must point out I eat a lot of **** food....fastfood several times a week...im lucky I dont put fat on...but just need some advice on what to do..to get bigger and not put on much weight as I'm also trying to get a 6 pack.
is there a certain term I need to do ie clean bulk???
Or should I just try and eat a lot more than I do and try and eat more healthy food and keep lifting?

Track your food using fitday.com because if you don't eat right then you will make next to no progress. Do the SS program, it's great for beginners http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wi..._Strength_Wiki
Also if you want a 6-pack then you'll have to wait until you've gained a considerable amount of muscle, then cut down.Workout Log:

You say you eat a lot of fast food and don't put any weight on. You just have a really fast metabolism. I have a pretty fast metabolism but you CAN put on weight. I eat around 6 meals a day just with a lot of protein and carbs. Fast food meals wont be as bad as your metabolism is so fast, just try and get some good sources of protein in you like tuna or chicken. Good luck!

I know my post sounds a little contradicting maybe..I need to eat a lot more than I do its just so hard to put on weight as my metabolism is so fast
...I've been doing cardio since I want a 6 pack but being skinny and trying to bulk up...would it be better to stop the cardio for now?Last edited by Ernster; 10-17-2009 at 04:36 AM.

**** loads of healthy food for best chances of a clean bulk. try 5 - 6 meals a day, every 3 hours or so. Carbs, carbs, protein and some more carbs. Also look at some whey protein with a high carb base, it will help alot, i found USN Muscle Mass worked real good, i also suggest you invest in some multi vitamins to minimise the risk of your immune system taking a battering from a big potential weight gain.
Best of luckGo hard or go home.

Thanks mate....so eat healthy, eat healthy and eat some more? Its so hard cutting down on fastfood I gotta do it though
So since I want to bulk up and am a skinny person with a fast metabolism...should I still continue with cardio? it's the only exercise I do lol so dont want to stop it if I dont need to..

Cardio will only slow down the bulking process, however you can still use it as a 5min warm up or cool down. If your concious about your fitness then you can use interval training - incorporating 100m sprints or 30seconds bursts on a excercise bike, id say 1 a week is plenty. Like me, and 70% of teens your metabolism is fast, best way around this is 5 - 6 reasonable sized meals a day alsongside a whey supplement, if at 1st you cant get your head around eating so much food, dont worry because your body will adapt and after a while will become a sponge and start craving it at times you usually. eat (every 3hours or so)Last edited by don_haych; 10-17-2009 at 05:31 AM.
