    Bench press foot placement question

Does all of your foot stay on the ground, or are u on ur toes? I watched the dave tate video and he was on his toes, but i tried doing that and i didnt feel as stable. when my foot was all on the ground i couldnt get as good of an arch but i did feel more stable.

work up to it make sure your hips are wide off the bench while your toes are tucked under, it's a hard stance to perfect. also squeeze the arch so hard you almost cramp up. it's not supposed to be comfortable. again just work up to it

It depends on the lifter and the federation. Many feds require that you have your heels down, so it's usually safer to practice that way, unless you KNOW that you're never going to do those feds, and that you're better on your toes. Otherwise, feet flat on the floor, and far enough out that you can arch without lifting your butt off the bench.

I bench on my toes. Trying to press my heel to the floor in the arched position is what gives me leg drive.
