Getting Fed up with school
Anyone else falling into this? I have another 3 years to go and will probably get a 50-75k job max unless I pursue a professorship. I see all my friends with high school making 25-50k a year already and just enjoying life. Everytime Midterms or exams come up I just want to say **** it and go off and start living. How do you guys stay motivated for school?

you might be severely disappointed if you think you'll automatically start at 50K out of college

Much of the time, college was an epic fail.
I believe I would have learned much more if I took the money I spent on college and toured myself around the world instead.

Maybe, but all entry level positions for graduates of my programs base salaries start at 50k. If I want to go into non-profit I could start at 35, but even than non-profit jobs are 45k+.
Either way, I could do some basic job with just a 2 year CC diploma and make 30k, so I'm not sure why I'm still here some times.

College degree = greater ability to get a high paying job. No guarantee, of course but you'll be able to walk through more doors to get a good job than someone with no degree. Plus your future earning potential is higher than someone with no college degree.
Trust me, I know. I've lived through it.

Jesus christ, you are in college, should be the best time of ur life. If ur miserably now, wait until you have to get a real job.
Making 20 to 30k a year is ****. Put your time in now and it will pay off in the future. Like a poster above me said, it will open doors in the future. Maybe you know some people that look like they are having fun now, but they are hitting their ceiling pretty much as jobs go without some sort of degree.
