I'd just like the country to give the system a try first.

Actually, its more irony that the people who are complaining about it have benefitted so greatly and yet claim there is better systems.
The problem with leftists is they complain about the very systems that keep them alive.

What I love more is ignorant internet kids that know nothing about economics and think the US is an example of the free market.

LOL this. What's also amusing is the same banking execs who promote free market in one hand, and accept government intervention with the other.

Exactly, see you are coming around. The problem lies not in the individual greed of citizens but in the corrupt and illegal "greed" seen in politics.

Yes. Having many affordable options in all areas of life is pretty nice.
Having competition drive innovation and push prices down comes in handy.
Unemployment office, department of motor vehicles, post office, etc.. etc.. is this what our healtchare is going to be like soon? No thanks.

I'm not asking this sarcastically asking this so don't take it the wrong way, but what system do you want to see in the United States? I see a lot of threads where you knock capitalism, but I'm unsure of what your looking for in it's place.

I prefer the system the Pinkies used. The one where if you didn't meet the quota for work that day, you were killed.

We don't have free market capitalism. Therefore, we can't really love "our" system, since "our" system is not free market capitalism. Don't you feel dumb?
Any basic introductory economics class will teach you this, as will a quick search of the internet.

I was using it as an example of the government taking capitalism out of an industry. I can't use examples? I don't want healthcare to be like all of the other government entities I mentioned that we have to deal with. It's miserable.
Why did you pick out healthcare from my post instead of unemployment or the department of motor vehicles?

Empirically, free-market capitalism is the worst economic system out there. Except for all the other ones.

The closest thing we have to free market capitalism in the US is the marijuana industry. Ironically, legalizing it would kill the industry as we know it.

Capitalism is flawed, but it's still better than the alternatives. Spet's frozen sh!t hole of a mother country is certainly testament to that.

Only people who don't understand power relations believe in a truly "free market." Regulatory intervention of some sort will always be required. And it's not like everyone is starting out on a level playing field, either.

Obviously. It's a question of how much.

Enough to protect the people, obviously. The problem is that protecting the people is not always in the best interest of making profit. That's why we have republicans.
