realized the last few volume cycles I haven't been eating enough carbs...
wtf have I been doing with myself. no wonder Im not making the gains ive wanted
swapped fat out for some carbs, feeling so much more energized in the gym.
Hurt my shoulder, this is the second week im out but I expect to be good come sunday/Monday for overhead.
also, narrowed my grip about an inch or two, making a hell of a difference. now its about 1.5-2 inches from knurl beginning, as opposed to 3ish+. Easier rack, easier pull etc.Snatch: 122

Today was the first day I lurked in months and I caught this lmao.
Been super swamped since late last year, I'm graduating this semester and starting grad school in the fall. Most of my time is spent in class, then work, then the research lab, then gf. By the time I'm home it's usually 11pm and time for bed lol. Whenever my schedule is free though I have the poverty gym all set up, so I'll usually mess around with lighter triples and doubles and high volume squat/pull work.
I'll be back on the grind once my schedule frees up for sure. In the meantime, mandatory gym porn pic:
20kg Pendlay HD bar
140kg set of MAVRIK bumpers (thank you Craigslist gods)
20kg x 2, 10kg x 2 APOLLO bumpers
15kg x 2 G2 bumpers
Colored Pendlay change plate set
Got everything super cheap, probably spent a little over 1k over about 6 months, including the squat stands and rubber mats. ty zyzz birdThe Long Road to Competition... My olympic weightlifting journal:

How long do you guys rest in between a single rep of a PR attempt? Watched some video on the Russian's training, and it mentioned 3 minute rests between each rep. Kinda sounded a bit long, unsure if 3 minutes is too long considering I don't think I'll be lifting the same weights as those peeps.
So how long do you brahs rest between PR attempts?

I just wait until I feel ready, most of the time its around 2 minutes sometimes I'll way 3-5 minutes
What are you guys currently using for a weightlifting belt for your squats?
I've been using a standard leather type PL belt but lately I feel like it's negatively effecting my ability to squat deep (really digs into my ribs/stomach and restricts bottom position)
Currently I'm thinking about two options:
1. Don't use a belt at all
or
2. Find one of those russian styled ones that are tapered a lot... anyone know where to get one of those?

was front squatting this morning, had 305 on the bar. Completed the rep and went to rack it. Got it on the left side but missed the right side and with the momentum and the awkwardness had to let it drop. Bar fell, weights fell off and then the other side fell... loud noises and the whole gym stared at me
Solid morning
