I'm terrible with high rep squats. I honestly probably couldn't hit 60kgx15, by 10 I'm on the brink of death.

I hit a back squat PR today. Slowly but surely
That feel when pulling an all nighter studying for finals that you're not prepared for, sleeping in your car for 4-6 hours, training, then doing it again for 3 nights in a row... strong wtf m8... And to think I still hit PR's, just wait til I'm properly rested lolThe Long Road to Competition... My olympic weightlifting journal:

I just turned in my last assignment of the term, like literally now. It wasn't a final, it was just a piece of homework, since this class has no final. But it took so long and I was so burned out by the end. But now I have nothing to do for the next 3 weeks except sleep, eat, play Black OPs II and train.

Just dropping into the conversation regarding higher rep squats - Not sure why there is such a stigma against these, when it comers to us OL'ers. Yes yes, we should stick to specific rep ranges to benefit most in our sport - but aren't most of us concerned with overall longevity? If your concern was to barely grind out 200 kg squat by next month with no concern for your tissue health, you'd probably start doing heavy singles every day. But if you wanted to squat 200 kg for reps with great technique, position, and speed by next year and be pain free, then you'd adopt a higher rep approach.
I've seen great benefit in including higher rep sets (8-12 rep range) in the past couple months, and it has pushed me through a year long plateau, so it definitely holds some merit in my heart. Not only that, but my joints feel great. Just my two cents.Last edited by BTBAM; 12-12-2012 at 09:01 AM.

We usually do a mix of low reps/ high reps
usually heavy triples or doubles, than dropping the weight and doing high reps (like 8-10) for speed immediatly afterwards
Its amazing how fast you can hammer those squats after a heavy double

3:30am finished studying and a project. 2 finals tomorrow. Getting back into home gym on Friday. Chiro fixed me up nicely the past two consecutive days. Cracked me gooooood.
Hopefully the week off didn't poop me too much.on the contrary maybe my cns needed a break after constant lifting and hockey? Literally all I've been doing is sitting around but did some pull-ups and dips yesterday in the gym.Snatch: 122
