It was my first time using them lol and also my last and also never again. I hit a relatively nice 120kg full clean PR this week. Came in next day and could not front squat 120. My calves are really in bad shape I don't know what to do. Without taking ibuprofen on a bad day I cant even squat bodyweight without sharp pain/loss of strength. Sharp pain in the posterior tibialis and soleus.

I've had a calf thing that sounds similar to that before... I was doing a lot of lifting, running, sprinting, and agility stuff at the time and my calves just got over-worked and it got worse FAST. I had to dial back on everything for at least a few days and ice/foam roll the f*** out of my calf muscles, but once I sucked it up and did what was necessary, it went away completely in like a week. I also think I wasn't warming up enough at the time or doing enough for recovery and I definitely wasn't training intelligently.

lol i guess. I worked 5-6 hours a day over the summer at a warehouse, and getting lifting done was easy. Now that I'm in college and practice 4-5 hours a day 6 days a week i find it hard to lift. fukin retarded weightlifting plan we follow is screwing me up.

yes, I've put on some muscle mass after all that squating and pressing. Currently cutting though, 2300 cals a day, adding in metcons with rowing and some 400m runs.

2 weeks in I can see results.

Not checking weight but at the height of the volume phase of smolov i was like 81-82kg

How much did you raise your back squat on your time off?
not sure, ill let you know it two weeks when i go for maxes.

but, i recently did 152.5 5x5 beltless and wrapless. this is with squatting every other day.

Today after cleaning 137, missed my very last rep of 162.5 3x4r

    said clean. another PR.

    Why the break?

I'm about to get some scans done for a torn rotator cuff, at the very least I think I need to give them a break..

Problem for me is a) I'm still fairly new, so I don't want to have to start all over again,
And b) I care about being aesthetic and I'm putting off the break of no upper body training (I do lots of extra gym ring work for chest arms, upper body in general) though I know the longer I put it off the longer recovery ill need

I was hang snatching today and I obviously did something I wasn't meant to do, because I pulled something in my neck and now it hurts like a mother. Anything I can do to speed up recovery? I can barely move my head at this point without turning my shoulders, and we're a little too far out from Halloween for to me to pretend I'm Frankenstein or Robocop.

Please save me some dignity, oly lifters.
