    I would start from the floor if you have the mobility and do a lot of paused lifts at different spots during the lifts.

    ty guys, the clean comes pretty natural even coming from more of a PLing background because I did front squat consistently, but the snatch is a whole other monster.

    kinda what I was thinking thanks.

    one more for you guys, being a taller lifter (yeah not conducive lol) I find it easier to catch with a wider stance. Any real drawback with that? Not crazy wide but outside shoulder width by a bit. Stick with what works or dry to drill in technique with a narrower foot position on the catch?

    I'm having some trouble with my squats (both front and back) where my back caves in and hips rise first. I was wondering what might be the best remedies for this? I was thinking of really upping the core work, doing some lower back raises after every workout?

    Squats with slow descents and pauses at the bottom, and core work.

    In other news, my lifting is coming along pretty week. Snatched 97kg off high blocks and cleaned 111kg off high blocks at a BW of 74. I also did a pause snatch + hang snatch complex with 88 and a clean + clean + 2 jerk complex with 97. Getting ready for a meet in slightly less than 3 weeks.

Been happening for 5 ish days now. Have been using hookgrip for years but been full on olympic lifting this year so I don't know if that plays a factor. It has never happened before. The only thing I can think of I did differently was taping my thumbs but again, they weren't taped tightly, just tight/loose enough to wrap 1 layer around my thumb.

    So... What do? lol. I don't want to live with some retarded condition where my thumbs go numb when I sleep, but at the same time there is no way I am taking a break from lifting especially since it's the summer.

    well, i am no expert, but i'd say try not to hyperextend your wrists when you catch the bar on snatch and cnj, and take some nasid to control inflammation.

    this wrist and hand sequence helped me quite a lot

    I will watch the video but I don't know how it will help me get rid of the thumb numbness. I've read around online, it has happened to other people but I can't seem to find a solution. wtf.

    i have been told to stop jerking like that 1000x over, but my ankles are trash and i dont think i have the stability to do a split anyway. power is just way too natural for me.

    I am being a jewcci little nugget at 175ish. i am hovering there and leaning out.
