I was beat up as **** from Smoloving yesterday. Not used to high volume squats. So I didn't expect much today. I felt weak, tired and slow. So this was very surprising and felt ****ing heavy.

Also, with a 95 snatch beforehand (not a PR) I got a 215 total which means I passed a basic milestone of having my total exceed the current snatch WR.

It's the clean and jerk bro, not the cleanandjerk, nom sayin?

editL it is impressive how you get under them moving that slow. It means you have crazy leg strength

yeah, the jerks I have been focused on staying with the drive, and driving it up for a while. I think it does make them look slower, but I have been having more success with using that style, so just gotta practice that, and get faster with it.

If you watch in slow motion you might notice you cut your 2nd pull real short to dive under the bar. If you kept tight and pulled through to triple extension you wouldn't need to get that low (or ultimately you'd be able to hit a bigger pr)

You're right, I do not spend a lot of time pulling the bar up, but that's not really a negative. Getting low on a clean is certainly nothing to be upset about, and I have cleaned 143kg, so it's not like 110kg is a PR or even close to limit. More importantly, when I did clean 143kg, the hardest part was just standing up. When I cleaned it, my best Front Squat was 150kg, so those are pretty close. I just need to continue to strength my legs to stand up with heavier cleans.

Rarely, especially in a clean, is the limiting factor the height you can pull the bar. Usually the bar is pulled sufficiently high, but other circumstances will put you out of position, or it was pulled high enough, but in a wrong direction, and you'll catch it poorly, or just not be strong enough to stand with it.

i had a pulled muscle in my neck and lower trap while doing this. i could not move my head backward or forward with any force. it took a lot out of my 2nd pull, and because i cant retract my scapula and move my head forward without crying i could not jerk. my heaviest jerk was 115 today and it was ugly because i could not get into position.

on the first set my hoodie kept getting in the way lolz. it slowed me even more

meh, as long as it is around 30 sec it is a multiple rep set. it is important to set up the lift properly
