My pulling strength is just ridiculously ahead of my squat and Olympic strength. Today hit a snatch pull of 150% of my best snatch for a double (though judge for yourself if it was enough of a pull and not just a deadlift):
Also got a snatch deadlift in there that's 126% of my best back squat and 220% of my best snatch. I really wish my squats were as strong as my pulls as they just don't have as much carry over into the Oly lifts.Strength + Speed = Power
If you never fail, you aren't truly pushing yourself to the limit. If you never push yourself to the limit, how do you know what you're truly capable of?

Yeah it's hard to say where the line between a snatch pull and a snatch deadlift runs.
My best clean is 145kg but my best deadlift is 250kg, i.e my clean is behind yours but deadlift way ahead. But I'd say my clean is limited by my front squat strength which is just 155kg, i.e I'm cleaning 93% of my best front squat.
The real question is: what were you front squatting when you cleaned that?Strength + Speed = Power
If you never fail, you aren't truly pushing yourself to the limit. If you never push yourself to the limit, how do you know what you're truly capable of?

I have a shoe question, not sure it's worth startinga new thread over. Have any of you used work boots to lift in? I dabble in weightlifting, my lifts ar nothing to brag about. Normally I wear Chucks with a heel insert. Problem is, my home gym is outside, and when winter rolls around, my feet are the first to get cold. I've read about squatting in boots, seems reasonable, but not much about Oly lifting. Boots seemed to be in favor decades ago but that was before the use of Oly shoes. What's your opinion on them?

Wouldnt be great. I suppose squatting in boots wouldnt be an issue as long as they dont restrict your ankle flexion but I dont think it would be very good for the classic lifts (clean/jerk/snatch) They would be too heavy and have a big impact.
Then again I have never tried it so trying it out cant hurt I'm sure you will be able to tell right away if it will work or not
