Just started doing the lifts again since I just set up my new home gym!

Give me some critiques, what are some big things I can work on other than mobility?

Also it's weird.. since I restarted the lifts snatch feels easier than cleans.. oh well

also i'm more like 150ish now.. still havent gained back the weight from exams
gotta eat + squat more and get to 170

Thanks, I'm going to try that tomorow. Now that I think about it I don't keep my head up, and when I hurt my back my head was down. Wasn't heavy weight, just 315 for speed reps too. And I was focusing on using my glutes.

I can't squat 315 atg lol.. I need more squats, I also found that it was easier to stand up faster if you don't focus on keeping your chest up. Maybe my legs are just too weak and my back can move the weight faster.

Honestly squat 4-5x a week. Your legs recover fast. And I think part of the problem with my back is that I go to fast and let the weight pop off my back a few inches when I rise, probably can't be good for me.

I do that sometimes too lol. I'm doing smolov for squats atm, I remember making good progress on it earlier in the year but then had to stop because bad knees (bad form?) weaker now that I was then but should gain it back, volume works for me

impingement syndrome. normal. dont freak out. rice + rotator cuff exorcises + strengthening your shoulders.

most of the time it is because they are used to the abuse

Yeah I do that once a week. I do the reps as explosive and as fast as possible and I rest 1-1.5 min between sets. I have done 70%x3x8, 75%x3x8, 80%x2x10, and 85%x2x10 (I think, I'll have to check my old programs to make sure).

Was hoping for a PR snatch tonight, but I couldn't hit more than 165lbs. Going to limit my pr attempts and perform triples in the clean and snatch from now on. Can't properly rack for a jerk or push press so that will have to improve as mobility gets better. I did hit 325x5 ATG without a belt on Saturday so that's a beltless pr, weighed in at 147.

Have you ever gotten so caught up on the details of a lift that you forget the absolute basics? I have been really trying to eliminate early arm bend on my snatches and work on keeping the bar close to the body when I am getting under the bar... I had another lifter check my form for those things and after a heavy set he told me my arms were straight and the barpath was good but I was pulling really slow past the knees and the bar was that there was no change in speed in the first and 2nd pull, I was essentially deadlifting the bar, finishing, and then pulling under. I have forgotten to accelerate the bar past my knees this entire time! strong wtf moment for me. After that I consciously focused on speeding up my pull once the bar was past my knees and then all of a sudden the 2nd pull, the finish, and the pull under became silky smooth and everything felt 'mazin. Hit 95kg for 3 doubles and backed off to 90 for a few doubles as well.

I cooked a 4 lb brisket in the slow cooker yesterday. Bought some chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, poured the sucker all over the meat and cooked it on low for 10 hours. Pulled it apart with two forks. It's like barbacoa from Chipotle except better.

^ what do you mean you aren't strong enough? You didn't go all the way down, silly. You aren't strong enough to power snatch it if that's what you mean. You missed 60 the first time because your upper back rounded and threw everything forward. This is obvious because your head is facing downwards. You can correct this by forcing yourself to look up, and/or keeping your chest high and leading with the chest rather than letting your hips fly up on the first pull.
