first time cnj since i came back from hk. pretty much 6 weeks since ive cnj and im lifting close to what my max is. how am i lifting better than before? LOL
form was better on the warmups but i caught it forward and ass went out for this one. surprised i still got the jerk even though i grinded the recovery, usually the jerk is my worse part. the recoveries for all the warmups were easy though..........(july 23, 2010)

What the absolute **** **** **** **** **** **** **** ****?? 150 kilos is NOT supposed to float like that. I think Igor just broke gravity.
Ugh, I hate "almost PR" todays. Strict pressed 185x2 (almost a PR, wanted 3), BS 295x5 (almost a PR, wanted 6). Also I decided last week I would start deadlifting 1x a week again, I hadn't really pulled since much since my back injury and I changed to Oly. Before, my best pulls were 450x5 and 505x1. Today I pulled 380x6, pretty beta, BUT a big difference for before: It was "clean style" and more importantly, hook grip. I originally brought straps along but I immediately found that they totally threw off my positioning so I said **** it and ditched them. Didn't need them anyway. I have naturally big forearms and my grip didn't even begin to fatigue, my pull was only limited by my back. Now that I'm a much stronger squatter than before, my deadlift should hopefully quickly catch up with and overtake my previous best.

lol ive had hiatus' before and its never happened
thanks my jerk usually sucks. i think its because the weeks i was gone let my wrists/elbows/rotator cuffs rest.
ive always been good at getting under the bar but if i dont get past the sticking point with my bounce im usually screwed..........(july 23, 2010)

And my singlet came in today :3 heres some jumbled thoughts
Fits perfectly but still has room for me to go up to 85s, probably higher. like its not tight or loose. The quality of it is really great compared to poverty wrestling singlet.
the thigh length feels longer than my old singlet, not sure if cause a large or cause quality singlet. My old one would ride up, but this one stays low, even though my legs arent filling it up. Probably a sizing thing
Ill try and upload a pic.

Technique work today. Snatch to 70 cj to 90 and some back squatting.
Tomorrow is max out day. Will be wearing singlet. Recording videos. Pepper thy angus.
With Bert's face on top. One of our 77s is heading there this year. He literally made the 247 total on his 3rd cj attempt. I'll post the video to it.Snatch: 122

Just an absolutely atrocious display of weightlifting by me today.
Workout called for 20 minutes to establish a 1RM snatch, rest 5 minutes, then 20 minutes to establish a 1RM clean and jerk. I did the same thing last Saturday and somehow totaled 11 kgs more then than I did today. Ugh.
1. Anybody want to diagnose my snatch problems? I know it's not the best camera angle but if you have any tips I'd love to hear them.
2. Pretty awful clean and jerk day as I was only able to hit 98 kg when last week I hit 104. I think it's partially due to a lot of overhead volume this week and partially to my legs being tired as **** from front squatting yesterday.
Either way, just a ****ty day of lifting.

Oh how I know that feel bro lol. I struggle so much with the snatch it's the worst. The most I think I've ever done so far is 66kg... but my coach is slowly fixing my imbalances/problems.
Some things that he's taught me:
1) When coming out of the bottom position, don't lead with your ass "Rippetoe hip-drive" style. That just causes the weight to dump forward. Lead with the chest, you should really feel it in the quads if they're not developed.
2) It looks like you keep on ending up on your toes in the bottom position. Work on flexibility. If you're already flexible, then work on landing in a more stable bottom position through hang snatches and the like.
3) Your rhomboids may need some strengthening. They form a nice and tight upside down V in your back and are mainly responsible for retracting the scapula. If they're too weak like mine, then they give under too much stress which ultimately causes the shoulders to dip forward, which causes you to lose the weight forward.
That's about all the stuff my coach has told me that I can remember, best of luck man.The Long Road to Competition... My olympic weightlifting journal:
