gem
I'm trying to limit the carbs period, with occasional fruit...I'm sure in a few days I'll feel the need to eat some carbs, so I'll probably include some rice or sweet potato then and some watermelon. So I'm kind of cycling...but its always low carb/no more than moderate on some rando days.
But I've started playing hockey again and have to walk a cumulative 1-2 miles a day for class/gym. def helps with the weight lossLast edited by schabowy90; 08-28-2012 at 09:10 PM.

Oh yeah, that's right. School is starting for everyone in the US...except me, because we start on October 1st. Back a few years ago, before I came to Caltech, there were two 15 week semesters. Then they changed to three 10 week trimesters (technically we're on the quarter system because of summer quarter but there are no summer classes). The professors thought "hey, that's great! Now we have three terms instead of two". So they just crammed two semesters worth of material into two trimesters and increased the pace by a factor of 1.5 and added new content into the remaining term. It also means we start very late.

just cleans, did jerks prior. I really feel like I can jerk anything that I get to my shoulders right now. 150 is best my jerk, but like my cleans and snatches, it's all about if I hit the right positions, lol. My coach says I should (well not should, I mean I am still new, more like with my strength levels) be going like 130ish and 165ish, so I hope to continue to improve somewhat rapidly until I get at least close to those numbers.

Nice lifts Lightning, you're strong.

I'm just getting back into the swing of things. I played baseball this past summer (played in college and for 2 years professionally) in a local men's league and our season just ended, and as I'm a pitcher, I wasn't really able to train at all for the last 3 months or so. Needless to say it's tough getting back into it -- I'm feeling pretty weak. I'm going to focus on bringing up my overall strength over the next 3-4 months, and then re-evaluate where I'm at and if I want to focus solely on O-lifting. Right now I'm doing the lifts 2-3 times a week with general strength work mixed in on my other days (bench, press, rows, deadlift, etc.).
We'll see how it goes.

thanks
If you don't mind, what level of pro ball did you play? (I am a huge baseball junkie, but like a dumbass I quit playing in 10th grade. Once I had to actually work hard, I stopped. Football too. Still regret it. I think I could have at least played lower level college ball in either sport, but we will never know )Bryan
