I am pretty paleo as well now. My diet is high protein/high fat and really the only carbs I eat are post workout (except I will have a cheat day on the weekend)
lots of eggs, beef, chicken, salt and vinegar almonds (OMG THESE ARE GREAT)
Only been doing this diet for about 2 weeks now though, so far so good thoughBryan

I switched to primal/paleo recently and I'm loving it. I've always had problems with stubborn body fat and I think I'm naturally sensitive to insulin so lower carb/higher fat seems to really help me out. Right now I'm drinking around 3 glasses of whole milk per day, eating eggs and bacon for breakfast, pistachios and jerkies for snacks during the day, salad with chicken or steak for lunch, and then steak/chicken/pork for dinner with veggies on the side. I'm also mixing in bananas, lots of natural peanut butter straight from the jar, and supplementing with 2 protein shakes a day. I lost 4 lbs last week and I trained 5 times and played baseball 3 nights with no noticeable fatigue or anything. In fact I think I had some of my best training sessions in a while. I also work during the day and haven't had any of the so-called "3 o'clock feeling" of lethargy like I'm accustomed to.
I think those crazy Crossfit kids might be onto something.

All you have to do is look at the crossfit games. Even the women are exceptionally lean. All of them at that. I've been stuck at 11ish percent with a good amount of mass and want to lean down, and my coach told me to try and eliminate sugars and most carbs and I'll see single digits without "struggling" with diet. I think of myself as carb sensitive too; I'm an endo if you believe in **** types.
My carbs are all fruit. And veggies obv.
I love good fats as well. Well see how the next few weeks go.Snatch: 122

yeah I eat hella veggies too, I don't count them as carbs, but I guess they technically are.
Post training I will usually have white rice and ground beef, but sometimes I "cheat" and go with a sugary drink and a shakeBryan

Oh fuark compared to all of you I need to change my diet. I used to never have this food so way back when I basically ate cheese, milk, pb from the jar, chicken, beef. That was seriously it now I eat a lot more. Im not putting on any weight(probably due to not eating enough) though I won't loose it. I should try a "lower carb" or paleo diet though damn that will be hard where I come from.
Borscht, borscht, cepelini, a ton of cepelini, cottage cheese, greek yogurt, choco(or white) cream cheese, a ton of provolone cheese, some veggies, bananas, smoked slamon, roast beef, mayo(lul, I put a little on some sandwiches and usually end up just eating what was ever left on the knife), ww bread(gtfo carbs), chicken, pork chops, lamb, and maybe a few other things I am missing. Now I understand why Im fat. I never really tried consuming less carbs for very long so maybe Ill try it out starting tomorrow(or just really limit carbs for the rest of my day) and see how it goes. PB here I come!
Sad thing is that I probably have a bunch of almonds and foods that would work great though I haven't eaten stuff like that in awhile.blahhhhh

^^ true. Over the past year or two I've read a lot about IFasting, iifym, body composition and stuff.
Anyways I'm reading "the paleo answer" as I'm commenting, and it gives a lot of great insight into cholesterol, weight, and insulin sensitivity etc. I haven't even gotten to the athletic performance part yet.
My biggest gripe with the whole iifym crew over at the Nutri section is they don't really care about anything but body comp. nobody digs deeper into long term effects, diseases brought out etc. discussions about processed foods take a backseat to, "sure, have a Twinkie or bennjerrys every day as long as it fits in your macros"
There's just so much more to nutrition and well being IMO.Snatch: 122
