woot, clean so much better on oly platform lol was my first time ever really but i really enjoyed it. Def need to work on elbow/tricep flexibility for the rack position though.
will upload vid soon. would appreciate all the critiques you can give
Def can tell i caught it high i guess because it was lightish, but i tried 135 and couldnt really get under it. when i did though, i lost it forward.... still new so i dont know if its a mental thing of just dropping under it faster or if im doing something terribely wrong. What kind of programming do you do with cleans too? I ended up doing a bunch of singles and doubles with 115 to just practice since its my first time. sorry for long winded questions lol but thanks!

I'm comin @ you again once I can sneak another video in. I'm at 165x1, 132x8
Damn... Ground out a hard 75 kg the other night to see where I was at. Some serious pressing strength in here!
I think a lot of the problems you guys may be facing when jerking is not being able to get the 'stack' - joint on joint on joint (wrist+elbow+shoulder). Take a look at Caleb Ward's jerks, he is a great example of this. Notice how the bar has a very rigid lockout - once it is there, it is there and locked the fuk out. The Chinese are a good example of this as well, as well as Dolega and Klokov. When you get this you see 'soft' and slow lockouts where the lifter has to fight for it. Often there is internal rotation of the shoulder, bent elbows, etc etc. Jerk from a stable position - front rack in full external rotation, shoulder back in the socket, and a lot of problems will clear up immediately.
Improve your shoulder and thoracic mobility, as well as improving leg (specifically quad) strength, and we will see some 140+ jerks very soon.
edit:
Please note his shoulder positioning throughout the lift. Hope this helps someone!

I don't know if it's because your hips were too high or something else but your back is way too rounded in the starting position; your back should be flat and chest up.
1 In the fire he stood, his hands upon the iron. And Brodin came unto him and said 2 "I tell you verily, say unto thy squat rack "be light", and it shall be defeated. Say unto thy leg press "be moveable" and it shall be moved. 3 For all things are possible with swole, and through Brodin your shepherd. 4 [For] through Brodin you have the power to trample unmovable iron and bend it to your will as you would your soul.

hmmm yeah didnt even think about that, think i took an initial position like a weird clean/deadlift hybrid monster lol
Yeah dude sink your ass down more, keep the chest up, make the arms tight and keep that back arched throughout the first pull. Make sure your ass and chest rise at the same speed. in your video your butt starts coming up first, followed by the chest.
Remember, the first pull is NOT a deadlift! Good luck brah lol

Mine does the same brah. On a good day I'm capable of squatting 285-300 for 8-10. On a mediocre / bad day I'll hardly be able to squat 275-285 for a triple. On the worst of days I'll crank out a max effort 255 triple, srs.
The body and it's recovery mechanisms are bizarre and I can't even begin to understand them.
Two days ago: Feel awesome walking in, everything feels awful on the squat, barely BS 285 for a single, even though I BTN PPed 225x5
Yesterday: Feel awesome walking in, everything feels awful on the squat, FS 265 for an awful single
Today: Felt crap all day because I had spent all day on my feet and my stomach felt awful because I had a huge amount of greasy as **** brisket. Rush to the gym at 10 pm at nearly closing time. Get a back squat PR with 310x7. Legs didn't even feel tired. Only reason I stopped was because my blood pressure felt so high that it felt like my face was about to explode.

I can usually put up a strong jerk with a deep split, bone-one-bone contact lock and pretty good technique when the weight is behind the neck. From the front rack the whole thing seems to break down, it feels heavy, the drive sucks, the split is shallow, the arms don't lock.
So after that discussion about high rep squats I threw some into my session; 60kgx20, 85kgx20, 105kgx20, 145kgx10, 165kgx8.
Instant regret, I thought I was dying, everything burned.

dat feel when impingement syndrome. anyone else have it bad latley? i could hardly lift a 5lb plate above my head this morning after training. it is a good thing my highest snatch weight was 70kg and my highest CnJ weight was 81 or else i would have died.
i did however hit 153x3 on back squat. that is a PR for me never done a triple over 143 before that

That's because BTN, your shoulders are back in the socket and externally rotated properly. From the front you may compromise that adequate shoulder position.

Had an ablation on my heart yesterday. They put in huge gauge needles in my groin to feed the wires in...and the insertions are pretty much exactly where the bar brushes my hips on snatches. Can't lift for a week anyway, but I have a feeling they are still going to be sore.
I am not the witty.

Clean and jerks from today. 98 x 2 is rep PR, and I'm pretty pleased with that considering my all time CJ PR is only 104.
Any tips/critiques? I've changed up my start position on my clean a little bit and I think it's helping me brush the bar higher on my thigh, thus keeping the bar path closer to my body. I'm also working on getting the bar further behind my head, thought I did a decent job of that today.
impingement was even worse during my 2nd workout as i expected
ground out a 110kg paused overhead squat though
awful
it is getting really bad. i hope i can mange tomorrows heavier weights without inflammation
Was your impingement the result of one bad lift or a slow development?
Caleb Ward has absolutely excellent technique. **** I wish I could do that.

Do you have some kind of faulty electrical pathway in the heart that was causing the long list of symptoms you mentioned before? You don't have MS, do you? Srs I really hope you're OK, that list you rattled off was scary as ****.

it was a result of stupidly maxing out on squat jerks yesterday. too much too early

the bar position over head is fine. i noticed that you always (except once) step in with your back foot before your front, you should always do front first and then back unless youre super unbalanced and have to get the back foot under. you also jump forward to catch the bar and i think thats cuz youre not finishing your second pull
Papichulo stopped by the dojo today for some training. Hit some impressive squats and a really easy 90kg snatch for a double. I'll post some videos tomorrow.
Also, I don't think my heart is healthy enough for sexual activity.

if squats aggravate it i will rest it for sure, but i need to stay in shape

Oly lifting went terrible today went up to 103 power clean from hang. 65 muscle snatch. 133 paused CG bench lol (more than my FS).
Met a crossfit guy who weighed like 55kg that was snatching 70kg for reps. I was shocked he was lifting with good form lol.
This is what I do most of my time at the gym after oly lol. Sneaked the video since it's in a separate room.
^^ those shoes must add a good 20kg to your lat pulldowns
LOL you joke but someone asked me if they help me bench more lmfao
I'm gonna max that badboy next time get that 295lbs. I also armwrestled guys at the gym today and basically wrecked them. Haven't met anyone to not get pinned within 1-2 seconds yet.

At least you didnt have two frat guys come up to you when you were front squatting and ask what muscles those isolate...
srsly gave them this exact reaction lol
