I decided today Im competing in two weeks with the intent of qualifying for University Nationals A session 77
need to hit 229. Im thinking open 100 snatch then get the 105.
Open CJ at 120 or 124 depending on how i do with the snatch.
Then I can go head to head with jagboy at nats.

that was one of the greatest experiences of my life, srs. never been with so many big names in one place. rob blackwell, dave spitz, scot hisaka, nicole lim, zygmunt smalcerz, anthony pomponio, the barnes brothers (saw them at FDU meet too,) sheldon stuckart, jim schmitz (ironmind guy), donovan ford, ian wilson, d'angelo osario, and Jiaping Ma, just off the top of my head. so happy I got to do that, set a new total PR and tied my training c+j pr.

Dude I don't even know, can't oly lift at the school gym. I haven't done a legit snatch for about 2 months and I haven't C&J'd for maybe a month. The only things I've PR'd in were front and back squats this week.

Anyone know if intense mesocycle is any good? It looks pretty easy so I'd be able to fit in more of the real lifts and increase them.

Compared to the base cycle it looks much easier. Have you done it before? How does it compare to base mesocycle? I'm thinking it's easier because there is less overall volume with less overall tonnage used compared to the base cycle

I found certain workouts in the intense cycle very tough mentally - there were many sets where every single rep I had to focus 100% on the lift and still was not sure if I could stand up. There's a reason why it's called the "intense" cycle. There's even a warning on the program description that says "it might look like there's less volume etc. but you better believe it is a lot tougher" or something.

I don't care what you feel or think right now, or how you feel after the base mesocycle. Your angus is NOT peppered for the intense cycle. I had some serious internal emotional struggles trying to get through some of the intense cycle sessions. The 5x5 days especially. Everything is very heavy. My knee was inflamed from overuse, elbows were aching, lower back constantly sore.
The base mesocycle is hard so far as it is a grueling/marathon program. The intense cycle is hard so far as there is a good chance you'll be crushed by the next set if you aren't completely dialed in.

used to lift with the barnes brothers. those little guys were squatting what i was. realty check/10.
they have threatened to ban me lol. there is a card swipe check point and it would not let me in anymore
Do they have an platform and bumper plates? If so argue that the platform is meant for that. Also that would they rather be responsible for you injuries by not dropping the weights or let you drop the weights?

little reverse of roles here but I can no longer front squat, I can only back squat.
these injuries are killing me, i swear i'm going to beat the **** out of my body if it decides to be soft again.
Seriously though... I wish they would make a supplement to make joints indestructible. I can deal with muscle injuries but these joint injuries are killing me...

for knees alone I need to get the blood flowing by doing 1 1/4 bodyweight squats before training or my knees feel like shyt
