I am not sure how many of you guys have problems with snacking late at night but it has kept my bodyfat percentage in the 20%'s for too long. I am currently 5'10" 210lbs. My goal is to get to 190lbs. I have put on considerable strength and size but my snacking at night has hindered any chance of a ripped appearance.
I have asked on here what others do to keep from snacking and recieved answers like "drink more water", "do pushups", and eat more veggies at night. Some have helped more than others but last night I decided I NEED TO HAVE BETTER WILL POWER.
I am proud to say that last night, I did not eat anything after my post workout shake and cottage cheese!

Snacking at night has nothing to do with your losses...gains....it's a total days worth of calories in VS calories out. I eat every night before bed...mainly a protein shake or some other form of slow digesting protein and it actually helps with fat loss and muscle gains.
Now if you are going on a binger before bed...yes of course that will hinder whatever progress u are going for.KettleBURN Fitness and Personal Training

Hello,
As your friends allready told you, eat a lot of veggies and drink a LOOOOOT of water, until your stomach is really full and you feel like throwing up. It worked fine for me for the first month because the anxiety is horrible. Then as you also say you have TO HAVE BETTER WILL POWER. And when you feel hungry, just put some motivational photos of your goal or read some motivational phrases or watch some videos (I watch a lot of boxing videos).
Hope i helped you.Last edited by Josephits; 10-13-2009 at 07:55 AM.

I find it hard it not to eat at night from time to time. If I just eat my supper later on in the night I don't have cravings. I find it is hard when your with a group of friends though and they are snacking(Especially during Ultimate Fighter on Weds) haha. I usually just have a few crackers with peanut butter and I feel satisfied after a few. Its not great to have but its something that kicks that feeling and better than chips and snacks. I don't do this every night but if I just cannot hold out I will have this.

My diet is typically really good until about 9:30pm. I would typically consume my post workout shake, and then have a bowl of cereal about an hour later, an apple about 10 mins after that, a peanut butter sandwhich after that and maybe a detour protein bar after that! Nothing really bad for you but it is an extra 1200 calories or so that I didn't really need.
I am hoping not snacking at night will allow for the fat loss that I am seeking. I lift and do cardio 3x a week and am pretty active another two nights a week (Hapkido).Take it all one day at a time!

A couple things....
Are you eating breakfast? Often I hear of people snacking at night and then skipping breakfast....because they aren't hungry....
How about delaying your dinner until later so it is easier to avoid the munchies later?
How about going to bed earlier!!!! "Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, wise & RIPPED"

Yeah, basically.
This is one way to deal, and very effective in my experience.
Move everything back an hour or two.
after that and maybe a detour protein bar after that! Nothing really bad for you but it is an extra 1200 calories or so that I didn't really need. You don't try to build a wall.
You don't set out to build a wall.
You don't say, "I'm going to build the biggest, baddest, greatest wall that's ever been built!".
You don't start there.
You say, "I'm going to lay this brick as perfectly as a brick can be laid.".
You do that every single day, and soon you'll have a wall.

yea i was exaggerating a little bit, moreso to make a joke about wishing i had a f'n mozz stick.
but yes to an extent im being neurotic but moreso for a different reason than just losing weight and getting in shape ive taken up this losing weight and eating right thing as a way to forget about a certain "someone", so i have completely immersed myself into it so that i more or less forget about her heh.
it wasnt so much the calories as ive been trying not to eat past 730

so you gained 14lbs in 6 weeks on an attempted cut
your sig reads as follows
Week 3: 250.6 (sigh) *9/14
Week 4: 249.6 *
Week 5: 245.6 **
Week 6: 257 (epic sigh) *
Week 7: 262.2 *
and during this time you managed to lose one inch off of your waist. so basically you gained about 15lbs of muscle and lost 3lbs of fat
what exactly are you "sighing" about in your sig with that accomplishment?
im surprised you have yet to mention your 11 inch cock, victoria secrets girlfriend, and your 250k per year job. because those 3 would be more believable than the bs you are telling me right now
this is the internet, trust me i dont give a chit, there is no reason to sit here and make up stories, stories i know arent true, it doesnt impress me and accomplishes nothing

I pretty much have a late night snack 3-4 days a week.....had a skinny cow ice cream bar last night and loved it!
Woke up this morning and to my amazement I was 4 pounds lighter from the day before. Mostly water weight I am sure, but nice to see it go down and not up.........and it goes up at times. This the rest of my life though, not just some random diet.Current Stack
