How much does LifeTime Fitness Cost?

I hate dealing with salespeople, and as far as I can tell, talking to one is the only way I can find out from Lifetime how much a family membership actually costs. They don't post it on the website. You have to give all your info to a salesperson who then hounds you to sign up right then, and if you don't they keep calling you.

So this is a Gold club. The members would either be individual, my wife and I, or all of us.

    Thanks for any info.

I had a single membership for many years, Lifetime is a top-notched facility and has much to offer.
I dont know if this helps but I was talking to one of their reps at the beginning of this year and I was given a 59.95 indiv. and 150.00 family monthly rates. Recently my nephew was offered a special rate of 50.00.

We have a first rate facility at the Y right up the road from where I live. It's $49 per month for me and $13 for my son. I could add my wife for another $7 if I chose to.

My lifetime family membership is $137 per month. If you have children under 12 it is $6 per each one added to this to cover child care. If you join close to the end of the month sign-up fees are less or zero. I feel I get my monies worth so I don't focus on the price.

So if I have a 13 year old, the family membership costs less than if I have an 11 year old? That sounds odd. It also means I'm screwed. I have 13 year old AND 4 more under 12.
    That's about $151.

I liked to Y but the only bad thing about them is that they always seemed to increase the prices yearly....granted it was only a few bucks but I decided to build my own gym in my basement....I visited lifetime fitness and was impressed with their set up.....

i pay $50 plus another $7 for my daughter. It's worth it....the place is like a mall with weights. I have no plans on telling them when my daughter turns 12 so they can jack up my rate

I don't know about other parts of the country, but the ones here in AZ have TWO pools that are more water parks than they are pools... one outside and a heated one inside. And they are immaculate, that alone is worth it if you have kids.

IMO it's more than just a gym, there is so much stuff to do there.
If you never get OUT of it.....you'll never have to "get back into it"

The chains never post prices because they will vary from club to club and also from time to time at the same clubs. They also want you to actually come into the club and be forced into a face to face meeting with a salesperson, who on commission, will attempt to sell you at the highest price he/she thinks they can get you to buy.

Health club membership sign ups are also seasonal, so by waiting to sign up in the summer months when most clubs except for those in resort areas are slow or in the Christmas shopping season, you will almost always pay less and also not have to pay upfront "initiation" fees than say in January, which is the peak "New Year's Resolution" season.

prices have gone up. only peopel with $6 jr dues are grandfathered in. Gold club levels in Texas are 77$ for single,$117 for couple (you and 13 yo), $20 each jr (under 12)

    edit:
Once your children reach the age of 12, you wont have to pay jr dues and just family rate of $137 plus the children still under 12

I was happy as a clam at gold's gym for the last 20 years, then my wife and daughter joined Lifetime and told me I should too. They both quit in about 6 months but now 6 years later, I'm still at lifetime because I got spoiled. It's such a great place! It's impossible to be in a bad mood when you are there. I pay about $62.00. I'm a long time member at a Platinum club. Don't know about new members fees though.
