I generally avoid them. Facebook and suchlike has killed the curiousity for me. I only want to see who's got fat, which girls are still hot or have gotten hot.
I just had a friend request on Facebook from a guy I went to college with. I haven't seen him for 15 years. He's 37 a bit dorky and never had any luck with the ladies. He decided to 'save himself' for the right woman.
He's now a rich investment banker and gone and married a 20 something model. That's about the one good story I've heard. Everyone else is working in mediocre jobs, got kids, health issues, habits etc.
Funny thing is that it always seems to be the people who everyone thought would do well who end up with a shoite life whilst the school retards have done well for themselves.
Strange..........

The Cake Is A Lie!
I recently went to mine. Some people were exactly as I remember them. On the other hand some people looked like they could be my parents. There were two or three people in particular where I almost fainted when I realized who they were because they looked so different. It kind of freaked me out actually.
I was 113 pounds the last time a lot of those people saw me so a few people were surprised.
I enjoyed it and was glad that I went.
There will come a day when I tire of listening to 80's music. That day is not today.

I had my 20th High school reunion this year but I decided not to attend. I also had my 15th year reunion at A&M but why bother going to see thousands of people I never knew. I might go to a 40 or 50 year if I am still alive by then

I stopped in to the "Before the Reunion" night at a bar for my 10 year. I stopped just to see if it was going to be the "wonder if I'm doing better than you are" douchebag-fest that I thought it would be....It was, for the most part. There were some folks I was glad to see, but, generally, it was a waste of my time. My typing teacher that I wanted to bed in high school was there and she looked terrific!! I drank a few drinks and made a little move on her. She shot me down; it was kinda uncomfortable, frankly.
I didn't go to my 15th, 20th, or 25th reunions at all.
I still see a couple of guys from high school (I went to an all male school). They get on me about not going to the reunions. They say stuff like, "Hey man, you're a successful attorney, and you're a big, built dude! (I know, I know...these are relative and debateable claims) You should go and show everyone!"
They never even stop to consider that their reasons for GOING to these silly things are exactly my reasons for NOT GOING!!
I didn't go to my prom either. I was dating a 21 year old brunette at the time. I took her camping that weekend. Prom seemed painfully lame to me.

I've never been to any of mine, and I have no intention of breaking that tradition. It's a tradition I keep regarding company functions also.
After 30-odd years I ran into ONE person I went to high school with. And she recognized me. I was working part time at Macy's. She saw my name tag and said "Brick (Twp. h.s.), 1975?" I said yes. I looked at her, but nothing clicked. Then she mentioned her maiden name, and I had a "d'oh!" moment. Then I realized she really hadn't changed at all... but she was the last person I expected to ever run into. She said she went to a reunion or two and told me I didn't miss a thing. We bullshat for a while, but I never saw her again.

I went to school with her apparently.
I guess she won't be coming to any reunions................

Skipped my ten year due to my Grandmother getting ready to pass away, did not miss much as it was like being in HS again. Fast forward another ten years and went to the 20th. Man what a friggin blast. It was pretty much 2 1/2 days of partying and catching up. All the ego's, clicks...from HS were gone and everyone got along great. Of course, coming from SOCAL, there was alot of holy s h i t what happened to her? She did not look like that in HS, LOL.

I haven't gone to any of mine.
I have no interest, I think it would be a bunch of people lying about where they work and how much they make, and maybe borrowing really nice cars from their friends or parents to look good.
I have a couple friends from my younger days that I still see often and that is all I need. I have no interest to see somebody that I haven't seen for years, only to see them for one night.

That's the same way mine was. I had a great time. I loved catching up with old friends and I also had a great time hanging out with people I wasn't close with in HS. The cliques were history, which we laughed about.

My 30th is coming up next Fall, and I think I may go for the first time...
Facebook has brought me back into contact with a ton of people from HS, and it's been fun catching up with people after all this time....Most of them, I was not particularly close to in HS, but by the time people are in their late 40s, no one seems to care about minor crap any more....
It's also been nice to hear all the comments from everyone telling me how young I still look...
Chicago White Sox. 2005 World Series Champs!!
Chicago Blackhawks!! 2010 Stanley Cup Champs!!!
Michigan State Spartans. 2007 NCAA Hockey Champs!!
Am I self-centered or is it just me?

I had two people I was nervous about seeing because things did not end well with us. You get to a point where you don't even remember what minor crap you were annoyed about. It was great to repair those bridges that I thought were burned.

I went to my 25 reunion, had a good time, drank too much! I was closer to friends I actually did not go to h.s. with because of sports. We traveled the midwest in the summers playing tennis and all. I still keep in contact with a couple of those fellows.

I went to my ten year and it was the same old clicks hanging out. I left early.
My twenty year reunion was pretty cool. Everyone seemed to mingle more. I shared the "brick house" award with one of the football players. The brick house award was for best body. That was cool for me since I was a geek in high school. When I graduated I weighed 160 lbs. Big time bean pole! Now I weigh 265. The football players were like...."Damn, we wish you were this big back in the day."
