More carbs than protein ok?
Hey hey, okay... so I was going over my diet.. using mydailyplate.com and I've noticed I take in more carbs than protein. Is that okay? I don't really follow macros too much because well... it's work that I just don't want to do right now.. (i keep in mind what my protein is)..I just don't want to get anal about it right now. But I noticed that usually when I'm at 120g protein... I'm usually floating around 200+ for carbs. Is having high carbs bad for losing weight? Ugh

Okay, so as long as I get my 1g per pound of body weight in protein and eat below maintenance.. then having a high amount of carbs will not affect my weight loss ... I understand the principles.. I just didn't know if having so many more carbs would slow me down or the carbs become stored as fat ( i work out 5x a week with weights, no cardio... unless you count kettlebell swings as cardio)

what she said, I would guess the key thing is not going over the reccomended cals.
I'm currently logging food on fitday and it's a HASSLE to try andfigure out what types of foods will fit into the macro breakdowns.
I'm noticing rather than try and meet the goals for protein that day and risk going over my cal deficit, i've been hovering around 100-200 cal deficit plus the deficit i'm already eating out.

Yeah, I've been doing both. The thing is... I don't eat a lot... lately... it's so weird. For a couple months I wanted to eat a lot of stuff.. then a month ago it just switched and now I don't want food very often. I have trouble MEETING my calorie requirement (I put myself at 1700) but I'm more concerned about maintaining my protein levels because I need to make sure I am getting enough to build my muscle (since Im breaking them down with WT). Which I am getting my protein... but my carbs seems so high
For the day I'm gonna be at
1316 calories
33g fat
173g carbs
96g of protein.
I'm gonna add more but see...
yesterday though i was at
1701 calories
65g of fat
214g of carbs
74g of protein

If your calories are at the right level and you're getting in enough protein (which you are), AND you're getting enough healthy fats (about 20-30% of your calories), there's no problem with getting more carbs than protein, especially if they're primarily healthy carbs. If most of your carbs are coming from 100 calorie packs and potato chips I'd reconsider.

My carbs sometimes over weigh my protein, but my calories are always incheck and I make sure I get my good fats! As long as you are burning more calories than you are consuming and still getting your protein in, you should be fine!

and I try to take some fish oil every day
Yeah, I think I just had a brain blurp... and was making things more complicated than they are. I hate when i do that.
