It isn't that simple. We had an All Star quality infield to make up for our ****ty OF. We lose a lot from ellsbury to hermeda (and, to whoever the OF of the day is)

He's a leadoff hitter who hits .300. He will steal 60-70 bases a season. He will be among the league leaders in triples. Whenever he gets on, Dustin Pedroia is guaranteed to see more fastballs. He greatly impacts many aspects of the game on paper and off (defensive placement when he's on, FBs to Petey, etc)

If you're saying he's over rated, you have to be comparing him to the "Jacoby Stole My Heart" 2007 seaosn where he batted like .600 in his call-up and in the playoffs. However, in general, having a leadoff hitter like Ellsbury is crucial to this teams success.

How so? When a base stealer is on 1B, especially the best base stealer in the game, it's common knowledge the batter will see more fastballs to try to give the catcher more of a chance to throw him out. It isn't reaching at all....

Last time I checked Pedroia is still an all star and putting up pretty much the same exact numbers without the magical effect of Jacoby.

daisk fails like a bitch again. the rays bullpen saved garza. the sox bullpen did not save daisk. AAA pitcher getting the nod tomorrow. bullpen will prob see alot of action also. this will not end well.

What the hell is a Felix Doubront? We're gonna get spanked tonight @ Catwalk Memorial Stadium.

At least IraHays can use a different excuse this year when 12K people are showing up to Rays games vs. West Coast teams. No longer are hurricanes to blame... this year it's...

doesnt beat the Padres getting hosed, I know there are always All Star voting issues, this year seems to be the worst I can remember in recent years between deserving and non deserving.
