Yeah, but much like Dice-K, you really don't know what to expect from Beckett. He can be completely lights out when he's at his best, but he's also liable to give up a bunch of home runs and the team is buried early, already down 5 or 6 runs.

Dice K will be saving his arm for the next WBC anyway. I know what you mean about Beckett, i think when that happens its cause he's hurt..

Pedroia on the shelf will cost us a playoff spot unless Lackey returns to form. Outside of that, we're on the outside looking in.

Theo called this year a "bridge year" meaning....it was a year we were prepared to punt. We aren't going to make a big trade especially considering the positions we are hurt at (2B, 215546143 outfield spots, Beckett) have very good to All Star players. In other words, we a'int trading for a high impact LF, 2B, etc.
