Practical Jokes
I was just looking through some of the pictures that are on my laptop and I came across this one that reminded me of a practical joke we played on my neice when she was visiting us a couple of years ago during the summer. Meg was sixteen at the time and loves scary movies. Her favourite movie is "The Ring". This is how we woke her up the morning after we watched it. That's my daughter in the costume. Man I wish we captured it on video!! We would have won AFV contest.
Hmmmm? Halloween is soon.

Funny, my daughter loves that movie too. For two years she would occasionally make herself "appear" in front of you in that same, still pose, lofl. I have to admit she freaked me out a few times doing it, too. Like, she'd hide behind a door.....or be in front of one she knew you were about to open, etc... Kids! Whaddayagonnado?

Girls are not scary, they are moody, uptight, no sense of humor bratts from approx 12 - mid 20's!!!! Our oldest made it to 23 this year, I cannot wait for the 14 year old to finish the trip. The kid from the movie is cute compaired to a real teen aged daughter!!!

This is a running joke that we do @ work whenever anyone is new.
I work @ a gym and and our phone lines are usually 2 digit numbers that start w/8.. eg if you get paged that you have a call on line 82, you hit 8, 2 and then pick up the reciever.
Now, if you want to make an announcement on the PA system you hit 70. So whenever a newbie comes, someone will get on the PA and say, "John, you have a call on line 70"
And then the whole gym will hear him on the PA system going, "Hi this is John, how can I help you? Hello? Hello? Hello??? Mutherfxcker!"
Depending on where they are in the gym, they might not be able to hear the PA system so some will fall for it two, even three times.

When I was still in the military I used to put that slimy hand cleaner on the ear peace of the phone around the hanger! I was a master at it, I could get a person, and as soon as they cleaned up the phone and hung it up I could get them again!

I love horror movies and being scared...that's what makes it so awesome!
Years ago my daughter and step son were going on and on how they weren't afraid of the dark. I think they were around 6 and 7 at the time. They were both in the bathroom brushing their teeth, carrying on, basically doing everything they could to stall bedtime.
Back then I lived in a small apartment. So me and my husband turned all the lights off and duct taped all the light switches so they couldn't turn them on. We went outside and stood on porch.
You can only imagine what happened when they came out of the bathroom...oh it was great...LOL!

"Growing Up"
I had two older sisters who were always picking on me.
Their room was the converted living room and they had to walk all the way to the other side of the room in the dark to turn the light on.
So....
One night after staying up late watching a scary movie where they tried to terrorize me the whole time...I snuck into their room and hid under their bed and stuck my hands in a pan full of ice water. When they came into the room, I reached out in the dark and grabbed them around the ankles with my ice cold hands and yelled at the top of my lungs.

I caught hell from my wife many years ago for letting my kids watch Nightmare on Elm Street part III with me. For several weeks afterward, whenever it was nighttime and I was walking around the house (going to the fridge, garage to smoke, whatever..) all three kids would follow me everywhere, like little ducklings. And I mean everywhere and anytime I moved! It was hilarious (to me, anyway ). And lol, I re-watched Dawn of the Dead with two of them last night. These two love horror movies, but the middle child (19yr old son) never has.
I used to really do Halloween up years ago. I would have a life sized monster (mask, with monster feet & hands and dressed/stuffed in my clothes) out on the front porch for a few weeks before Halloween night. All the kids would see it during the school week and weekends etc., so they weren't afraid of a dummy when they'd come up to the door to trick or treat. But of course, on Halloween night.... I was wearing the mask, feet, hands and same clothes....slumped over in the same chair. When I would lurch forward scream out...I had a couple of kids fall on the stairs (scary to me!) and even had one pee his pants. Hell, I had parents jump out of their skin . Yeah, I miss those times .

That is too funny...I'm the same way! I remember my oldest watching Hell Raiser for the 1st time at the age of 4! (Yeah I'm crazy like that...but I drilled it into their heads that is was all make believe...there was no such thing as the boogy man...) My kids love horror movies...it's how I brought them up.
I used to dress up every Halloween and pass out candy. One year I had this awesome zombie costume. I had this make up kit to make my face look like the skin was falling off. I sat in a chair in front of my house...most of the kids wouldn't even come up the stairs...the parents were freaking out!
My husband was just watching out the window telling my youngest daughter..."your mother has gone too far..."

That reminds me of this prank my cousin would do when he worked @ a halloween store in high school. He would wear this grim reaper costome that had a skull for a face and he'd sit down indian style against a wall. He'd be completely motionless. Then his coworker would say to unsuspecting customers, "Hi, check out this statue, it's half off because there's a crack in the face."
And they'd always say, "What crack? I don't see any crack"
"Look close, it's there"
And they'd get really close and examine it and just @ the right time, my cousin would scream and grab their legs.
But as soon as the manager found out, he made them stop due to possible heart attacks

oh and speaking of nightmare on elm st, when I was 11, I told my 2 cousins who were 9 and 6 that Freddy Kruger was real and that I knew him. I can't believe those morons believed me. I still mess w/them to this day about it.

while in the Army we would send new guys after "a box of grid squares" (fo maps were marked with 1Kx1K grids) and spark plugs for a diesel apc.
later at a civilian job i sent a guy to the hardware store for 3' of fallopian tubing.
crazy i know.
