MMMM, do you smell that?
That is a standing rib roast on the weber with mesquite chunk charcoal. In two hours we feast! And as a bonus... Yorkshire pudding.

We have our first snowfall in the state here, expecting a couple inches.
Can't see or smell a thing outside.

it is physically impossible for not only me but at least 99% of anyone on this board to actually smell what you have cooking on the charcoal
though i appreciate you incentive to try to get me to imagine the smell of your bbq it just cannot happen

I can't make the pudding until the roast is finished. Here is the recipe:
btw, it looks gross but it is oh-so-fracking-good.
3/4 cup pre-sifted flour
1/2 tsp salt
3 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup roast beef drippings
1. Preheat over to 450
2. On piece of wax paper, sift together flour and salt
3. In mixing bowl, beat eggs, milk and water. Gradually beat in flour; beat until entire surface bubbles
Now for the gross part
4. Pour beef drippings into cupcake pan, put in over until fat starts to smoke, remove from oven
5. Pour batter into each cup cake holder.
6. Bake for 20 minutes until puffed golden.
Sounds sick, I know, and the first time I made it my friends were like WTF?? But the batter absorbs the drippings and it is damn tasty.

Negative Ghostrider. Charcoal is 10x better than LP. Two weeks ago I slow smoked a brisket (5 hours) on the weber. No way I could do that on a gas grill.

Kinda hard to hold my laptop and get a good picture.
This is a small roast -- only a about 4lbs. Indirect heat with a drip pan in the middle.

You should use the drippings to make gravy, with flour and stock.

damn, brings back memories of summer time here in the upper midwest.
Indirect heat FTW, this guy knows how to cook.
Ill be breaking out the winter coat tonight to slow cook some Dove breasts from last months harvest, really really good meat if any of you have ever had it.
I marinate them in redwine, a little bit of coca cola, worsteshire sauce(sp?) and a little italian dressing. Protein baby
