I like this exercise, I personally always use the smith machine for it, although regular bench is fine, the lift off is a bit akward if you don't have a spot. This isn't an ego lift, and although it isn't hard to go heavy on, its more important to focus and really concentrate on form

I like to throw them in there to mix it up, but don't keep them in there as a staple exercise. One reason being it is difficult to unrack a lot of weight without a spotter, and I never have a spotter.

i only used regular bench for it. it took me almost 6 weeks to figure out how to do them without pain (little pains from bad form putting pressure in the wrong places). so yeah, struggled with the form for a while... stayed at 135 until i finally got it..but once i got it, it was a great exercise for tris.
and yes, you can go very heavy on it once youve got the form down. my training partner would rep 405 on this exercise.

try keeping your upper arms pinned against your lats/ribs.. you'll find the form you need.

I used to include the RGBP in my pool of rotating exercises for tricep work, but I really never felt I benefited from this variation. For me, CGBP and Floor Presses felt like it had more carryover to my bench. I might do RGBP again for fun though.

I do these sometimes on the press machine and they work well. It is a little better on the machine I think because you don't really need a spot. I think the key is to keep your elbows in.
