People that have cats [reps]
I called the vet's office and left a message, but I'm wondering if this has ever happened to anyone.
One of my cats has been pulling her fur out so I brought her to the vet and they gave us medication for her. She has been taking it fine the last few days. I have her the pill a little while ago and now she is drooling and won't come near me?

That's not good at all. How many cats do you have? Do they go outside or are they strictly indoor cats?

My dad said the pill is an anti depressant.

2, they are both indoor. She already has issues with balance and walking.

Whats the medication? I used to have to give one of my cats predisone for an allergic reaction she had, she was tearing up patches of fur as well. It is a minor steroid and effected her mood somewhat.

The cat is definitely stressed. The solution is to find what may be stressing the cat. It can be anything from being lonely (had a cat the pulled its fur out because of this), to a recent move, to another new animal or person in the house, etc.
The drooling could be from the pills, or it could be something the cat ate. I've seen my cats drool for a few minutes because they ate a bug or soemthing outside (they eventually puke it up).

not so sure it works that way with cats...with the drooling thing i'd actually think it would be a depressant. but that's just my assumption from what you told me so i could be wrong

Do not listen to a single person in this thread, regardless if they preface their post with "definitely". No one can diagnose anything through the Internet.
No one as far as I can tell is a vet and even if their pet has gone through something similar there is no way the user can know for sure it's the exact same issue.
Take it to the vet. They will provide a much better solution/answer than anyone here.
ITT: Too many uneducated assumptions involving pets.
Most people consider their pets as their child -- would you ever consider taking advice from someone online about your child's medical problems?

Mine was just insanely jealous about the dog, but he got over it once he adjusted not that I know what her cat's situation is.

Amitriptyline is what she is taking.

She really isn't alone a lot, I feed all my animals blue seal brand and have never had an issue, we haven't moved and nothing has really changed.
She doesn't eat anything except her food, she won't even take a piece of chicken or anything.

I guess that's what the vet thinks is happening. Makes sense though.

They will likely not provide free advice through the telephone. If anything, when they call back, they will tell you to make an appointment.

I did a few minutes of reading and by the sounds of it fleas/ticks are a severe irritant and could be responsible for the pulling of hair. Worth checking into.

At least you've got a cat. My outdoor stray I've been taking care of is so scared of people now that he doesn't even come near me from scum bags probably chasing him off. He still eats the tuna I leave out for him for teh proteinz. Before he'd wait outside the door for me, now I have to just leave it on the porch.

It's my aunt's vet clinic... not really worried about that part.

She doesn't have fleas, I thought thats what it was at first. But I spent a 1/2 hour combing her once and found nothing.

She is already a really strange cat. She is mentally challenged. Sometimes it happens to female cats after a bad spay surgery. She has no balance and has always acted confused, but never drooling or not wanting someone to come near her.

That makes sense.
Brah if you want a cat, animal shelters are over run right now, they're giving them away in a lot of places. And that's nice of you.

It's really not funny for something like that to happen. And I have, but I don't think it's life and death right now. It's just weird.

The latest cat that died had a pink eye. No one thinks that you could die with a pink eye. There could very well be something internal that you cannot see.
