TWO WEEKS
That's the duration of President Obama's administration that existed before the nomination deadline. In other words, a Nobel Peace Prize was just awarded to a junior Senator who's only major accomplishment in life was some community work and winning a US presidential election.
How can anyone say, with a straight face, that two weeks in office warranted this recognition? For his supporters, please: List his specific global accomplishments in those first two weeks (or as a Senator & presidential candidate).
- Increased attacks inside Pakistan?
- Dramatically expanded war in Afghanistan?
- Continued war in Iraq?
- Belligerence towards Iran's "peaceful" nuclear program?
The 2010 award could have been justified with actual actions. This just makes the Nobel committee a laughingstock.

I hope people do not blow this out of proportion, though the sound of conservative and liberal talking heads loading their mouths with extra ammo indicates otherwise.
First of all, it is not an objective award, it is based on international popularity. It is about as objective as homecoming queen.
Secondly, like it or not, Obama is very popular with the rest of the world for various reasons. He faces a lot of opposition at home, but a lot of welcome overseas. You could say that it is because he is a big pussy who wants to destroy America blah blah or that people like him because they like dealing with a literate American president blah blah.Disciple of the tire flip and Utilikilt.

Wow strong promising move.."Do you think SHE actually felt like that was a sexual thing he was doing? She's like 6. Only an actual p3do would think that she thought he was groping her, too."
"Not that it's impossible to touch a minor inappropriately, but it is true that a 6 year old girl will not recognize someone putting a hand on their chest as groping, whether it is inappropriate or not."

He isn't George Bush. It's really that simple.
These bozos have no idea how much they took an award that used to mean something and turned it into a sad joke.
When Arafat got it I was trying to agree that it was a psychological "attaboy" being thrown his way that might help shape things for the better. OK, I could live with that.
But when Irena Sendler was overlooked in favor of Al Gore in 07'....it was all over. http://www.planetearthpeaceparty.com...l-peace-prize/"If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did."

It just shows how the media is manipulated and how brainwashed people are.
A men that did nothing and is undeserving of anything.
The whole fakeness of 'change' and the whole fiasco of the popularity. Its just pathetic.
It also shows how the nobel peace price is bs, i wouldnt be surprised of some israeli gets it.

In before accusations of racism for not agreeing with the Nobel Committee.
