yet here you, and the rest of the conservative cheerleaders, are. whining like there is no tomorrow. so obviously the noble peace prize still carries some weight.
as for obama getting the award, it is a bold move by the comittee. it could be a good thing and it could be a bad thing. depending on how things pan out regarding the middle east, nuclear weapons ban etc etc.Last edited by kel_varnsen; 10-09-2009 at 09:13 AM.

Almost all people I've talked to said "for what?" or "that seems a little premature"
That was a mix of Obama and non Obama voters FWIWNothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.

Sorry that you're so uneducated.

Great...so what is the impact so far from Obama? Besides improving America's image, which doesn't have anything to do with peace. Maybe in a year or two or four he should get it, that remains to be seen.
Glad to see the people who put effort into things don't matter after all though, let's not recognize them. Maybe they should put out a 2nd award for "effort" instead of "impact?"

Listen, I understand that you are and always will be in unwavering blind and slobbering support of obama, but if you're half as smart as you pretend you are you'd understand the award is not justified.
Obama has made amazing improvements in international relations, but even he said he hasn't done enough and is the commander in chief of two wars. I'm not attacking your beloved one, so calm down, I'm merely saying that at this point in time, it doesn't make much sense that he got it.Never criticize someone until you have walked a mile in their shoes. That way, when you do criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

I'm glad you asked. As we know, favorable relations with other countries are the only way to peace.

He has done a great job at reducing anti-American sentiment, which is the root cause of terrorism. When all that says 'it is good' has been debunked, what says 'I want' remains.

So because people like America...there will be peace?
Edit: I mean, I could understand that if all of a sudden Iraqi's and Afgani's were like "Oh, we love America now." And fighting stopped. But what does people in Germany and Spain liking the United States have to do with world peace?Last edited by TheStender; 10-09-2009 at 09:41 AM.

Ok?
Where in my statement did I say anything for or against the war? I pretty clearly stated it doesn't make sense to get a peace prize while carrying on two wars. What does that have to do with supporting them or not?

You're behind the times on that news bro.
Snubbing the US's traditional allies and appeasing nations ruled by tyrants doesn't sound like a most awesome foreign policy to me.
A sound foreign policy would be pulling US troops from all foreign soil, disbanding NATO, moving the UN to I really don't give a sh!t, and no more foreign aid.
Since European nations are such awesome places to live because of their "free" healthcare, let's see how that works out when they have to actually have a defense budget."If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."
