LOL I wish. My shoulder actually does feel strong enough to do some light weight type stuff...but the doc said If I tore my cartilage anymore it could get to the point where its unfixable...yeah im not willing to take that chance...
In the grand scheme of things its only 1 year out of my life...hopefully this will just make me hungrier and I beast it out when i get back to lifting...plus theres always muscle memory..
And to the guy who said PT is gonna hurt...do you have any personal experiences? I guess the one benefit from this is that Im actually going to school for PT so I guess Ill get some first hand experience...lol

Brah, I feel you. If would just suck it up to, but I read online that if you dislocate your shoulder you need to go get it checked out in case of any tears in cartilage...and of course I would have some lol...
They say if I dont get it fixed that my shoulder can just keep getting dislocated easier and eventaully my cartilage will be ****ed and i wont even be able to lift...period.

thats a good way to look at it lol. getting your ROM back is the biggest pain. Your shoulder is going to not want to move at all after surgery and being in a sling. After you get your ROM back, be prepared to use girly weights (1 and 2 pound dumbbells etc..)

LOL yeah I know, It was for some semi pro league, but I was doing it for fun. I played Football in HS and I figured why not lol. I was going for a diving tackle with my arms extended...the other player kneed me in my shoulder and hyperextended it...OUCH.
No more rugby for me...Ill stick to weight lifting and MMA...even though I did like Rugby...but its not worth risking tearing up my shoulder again for it.

work core and legs for a year then catch up w/ the upper body when you can. it's actually a great opportunity, most people have **** core/legs.... you'll be pushing some serious weight w/ your upper body by the time you can start up w/ that again since you'll have an insane foundation if you play it right.
